I am looking for some creative, easy to carry options for getting autographs. My son would love to have a different option other than the book. What are some of the ways you all have gotten autographs?

Thanks for your help.

23 days left! I can not wait! :yay:

Several here have mentioned a t-shirt or pillow case. That would be fun and different from the traditional autograph books.

On our last trip, my girls each took a spiral notebook (unlined pages) to get autographs in. We took pics of them with all the characters too. We bought the Disney albums at Wal-mart that hold 2 photos per page. That way, they could put the picture in one slot and the autograph either above or below it. It turned out very cute and they look at them often. Much more than the plain autograph book that sits on a shelf collecting dust!

What about an Autograph Photo Frame. We are doing this on our trip in Nov.I got 2 mats that holds 6 photos.I will take the mat to characters meals and have the characters sign, then take a picture of that character and the kids or the whole family(mix it up alittle.)

I think my DS, 3, will be wearing an autograph hat this year. ONe less thing to carry!!

I was going to say the photo mat too. Here is what we did: http://www.plan-a-magical-vacation.com/disney-character-autograph.html

I can't wait to add my littlest guy's pic to my wall this year!!

We did this too, and it really came out great !!!

We did a light colored baseball caps and the characters signed with a sharpie marker. It was easy because my fair skinned kids would actually keep a hat on the head. No fumbling for the book and page in line and all I had to carry was the sharpie :)

Unlike the autograph books the kids often wear the hats and when they are not they are displayed on a hook in their bedroom.

I think this year we are going to do a visor instead of a baseball cap.

I scrapbook so on our most recent trip I pre-cut squares of white cardstock for the characters to sign. We used a small clipboard that I bought at staples for less than $1 to hold the cardstock. Now as I scrapbook I am using photos with the corresponding autographs in my layouts.

I love this idea. DDs 5 and 7 both have their own autograph pages that I made but this would be a wonderful idea to DD12 to do as a family souvenir. She already walks up to the characters with her younger sisters (she's great at helping  ) and could just grab a quick autograph for the family.

Thanks for the great idea. :goodvibes

I bought at AC Moore a pillowcase that has a pre-printed picture on it(the picture is in black ink). They have about 7 or 8 different ones for both boys and girls. They also come with crayons to color them. I got a princess one for my DD and a Pooh one for me. We will color them before we go and then get autographs on the pillowcase. We already have the autograph book so I thought this was cute and a little different. As for price, with the 40% off coupon, they were only $6 each.

For those of you who did the mat...How did you carry it around? It is a wonderful idea, I am just afraid that it would look bent and horrible by the end of the trip! How did you get around that?

We just had the mats in a plastic bag. We only carried them around for a couple of the days we were there (and of course to any character meals). Once they were full, we left them in the room.

I will try to remeber the website, but we bought a make your own plate/tumbler kit. For the plates it includes sheets of round paper, you get them autographed at say a character meal. When you get home you send the pages full of autographs in to the place named on the box and they make a dishwasher safe plate out of it, My sad story, we did this and lost all of the autograph pages at MK.

When we went to WDW the first time my youngest son took an autograph book but the older ones wore hats and had them signed.

They also put a few of their pins on the hat that they wanted to trade.

One wore a baseball type hat and the others wore lightweight, camping/Indiana Jones type hats. It was very sunny so they never took them off.

We use full-zip hooded sweatrshirts for the characters to autograph. YOu can tie them around your waist when you are not using them, so you odn't have to carry them. Then when you wear them at home, you have a nice conversation piece..
