Way to carry pins in Parks?

My DS(8) has recently begun trading pins. However, his lanyard is getting too heavy for him to comfortably carry around his neck. So that he can take at least some to trade- do you have any recommendations as to other ways to carry them? Is there a booklet or something he could use? I carry a bag that I could stick that in, but can't seem to find one. Thanks!

Could he wear a ball cap as well as his lanyard and put some pins on the cap? I've seen other do this successfully. My lanyard is pretty heavy, too, and if it's hot, whew!

I know what you guys mean. I only wear a small handful of pins on my lanyard to keep it from feeling too heavy. I spent quite a bit of time agonizing which ones to leave behind, lol. Does anyone know if you can buy something similar to the hip displays the cast members wear? I've also seen guys wearing them on their hats, as Disneychic suggested.

On Ebay or the pin hut at downtown disney you can buy a small pin bag with about 5 pages in which will hold around 50 pins which you can then take to the parks. this helps to protect the pins from rubbing against each other
