Way OT: Top 3 tearjerkers???

I never cried at movies until...

PAY IT FORWARD--I bawled my eyes out--HOW could they do that?

The second movie that got to me also had Haley Joel Osmet

A.I>Artificial Intelligence---Again with the crying--Again how could they do that?

Those are the only 2 movies I've cried during!

My super #1 tearjerker is "Dad" - there are quite a few big stars in it, but the main characters are Jack Lemmon and Ted Danson. A close second is "Million Dollar Baby" - every time I watch it, I'm bawling non-stop from the end of the infamous fight until about 3 hours after the movie is over.

What Dreams May Come-- (I think that is the name) It has Robin Williams in it. I never cried as hard as I did with this movie. Watch it, it is a must see.

I forgot about that one. That movie makes me cry from start to finish. I've never cried so much watching a movie!

#1 The Notebook-I bawled my way through that movie, loved it!

#2 Steel Magnolias--when M'Lynn is crying in the cemetary..ohhhh I lose it every time..and then of course laugh at Shirley McLain.
Laughter through tears and all that.. ;)

#3 Titanic..and Sophie's Choice, when she has to make THE choice. :guilty: ..and okay I'll admit it, I cry every time I watch Toy Story 2 during "When She Loved Me".
Sarah McLoughlin's voice coupled with the sadness of Jessie. sob sob sob.
I even cry every time I hear the song without the movie. LOL

I always cry when I see

Brians Song.......I mean bawl my eyes out......especially the end

I cry just hearing the music from Brian's Song!!

OH! I have to add Sound of Music.
The part when Captain Von Trapp is singing Edelweiss at the festival and his voice breaks, so Maria steps up and starts singing with him..
I've probably seen it 100 times and 100 times I have cried.
If I think about it now, I start welling up.

Me too! I watched it this past Sunday and SOBBED for what felt like almost the entire movie!! I hugged my dog the rest of the day!

1. Steel Magnolias

2. Beaches

3. Stepmom

Steel Magnolias
Pay It Forward
Stepmom
A Star Is Born (with Barbara Striesand)
any "Lassie" movie

Seriously, the Notebook? So far I haven't been able to stand a single Nicolas Sparks book. I've only seen the movie version when Mandy Moore was sick. Yick. Too syrupy sweet for me.

Anyway, mine are:
3. Beaches
2. Forrest Gump (though I don't cry near as much now)
1. Gallipoli (How fast are you going to run? As fast as a leopard  )

I'm a guy, so I have trouble admitting any of this, but....

The ultimate male tearjerker? The film that all men cry at, whether they admit it or not?

Field of Dreams

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ITA

Saving Private Ryan ("Be worth it...")

What's Eating Gilbert Grape? (Johnny Depp cries :lovestruc )

Steel Magnolias ("I'd rather have a few minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothin' special")

Losing Isaiah (it absolutely broke my heart. i don't think i will ever see it again)

Shadowlands (C.S. Lewis' story of how his heart was softened by the love of a woman, and the loss of her)

Finding Neverland (being a mom to two boys that i dearly love it just made me sob)

And the sad musical interlude in the middle of Disney cartoons. I sobbed during "When She Loved Me". Bawled over Mike handing the splinter to Boo's door to Sully. And misted up over the "...our town..." song in Cars.

I'm gonna seem like a copycat, but so many of these already listed make me boohoo too!

The Green Mile (I was literally sobbing in the theater)
Life is Beautiful
A River Runs Through It (this is such a beautiful movie, Redford was PERFECT as the narrator)
Shawshank Redemption (Either get busy living or get busy dying)
Beaches
Rudy (this is the only movie that has ever made DH cry)
Dead Poet's Society

1. The Notebook...I can NOT watch this movie without sobbing.

2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...this is probably a really weird one. But I love it and that line near the end "meet me in mantauk" gets me every time.

3. Finding Neverland...I don't even have kids and I cry when I see it.
