I have just noticed some changes in my neck/chin area that I"m not too keen on :sad2: and have seen the commercial for the 'Neckline Slimmer' an exercise device that's supposed to help tighten and tone that area under your chin to reduce sagging/bagging, etc. I think it's about $20 and I wouldn't mind investing that if it actually works. I know when they do the infomercials, they make anything look good. ;)So I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried it and if it works.:confused3 I won't waste my time if it's just another gadget that doesn't perform the way they say it does.

thanks!

Oh I feel for you. I see the same changes and I hate it!!! y grandma bought one and said she'd tell me how it works but never uses it. I said if she dind't want it I'd take it but she says she wants to use it just keeps forgetting. She is the only person I know who has it so I'd love to know too.

Hey! I have an idea, why don't you tell grandma you want to test it out for her and let her know if it really works? If she keeps forgetting to do it, maybe she'd let you 'borrow' it. My grandma was the same way, she didn't want to give anything up, but I could 'borrow' it, that way she wasn't relinquishing ownership!;)

Not a bad idea, maybe I will do that when we go for Spring Break. (Or at least try it for the week.) Hopefully though someone else will know before then if it's worth it.

that's an idea! I'm hoping that someone on here has tried it. My thought is because there are so many people on here, at least someone must have! Now to find that person, or two! Keep me posted!

Hey, I'd buy her one if I could have the skin of a 12yo again! I don't feel like I should be old enough to worry about this kind of thing, but the reality is gravity it having its effect on me! :scared1:

I'm just really surprised that we haven't heard from someone who's used it! There are thousands of people on here, Come on people! don't be embarassed, you're helping the rest of us who have enquiring minds!:thumbsup2

i've used it,and...meh. I was hoping for results like on tv...yeah:rotfl2: don't know why I thought it was true...... maybe it does work, but not like on tv..... I keep trying in the hopes I'll get a great chin fast!:rotfl:

How long did you use it? did you notice any results at all?

I hate how they make everything look amazing on tv, but you buy their 'amazing' contraption and it doesn't quite work the way they tell us it will. My husband bought a razor blade sharpener. Supposed to sharpen his razors and save money by not needing to change his blades as often. Like you said, meh...wait, no, it was more like NOT. He spent $20 on the POS and he couldn't notice any change at all. ack.:headache: that's $20 I'd like back.

Thanks for the info. Sorry it didn't do what you wanted it to.:confused3

Question...do you think it worked the muscles in the back of your neck, around your spine? I have some neck/spine issues that could benefit from having stronger muscles there.

I think simply by the nature of what it's doing, it's going to work primarily the muscles on the front of the neck. That said, one of the biggest muscles on the front of your neck goes from the collar bone to just under your ear, kind of in a diagonal direction. I'm saying that, not having used it, but just thinking of the motion it says you are supposed to do when using it.

Your problem could be caused by incorrect posture. A head-forward posture will put strain on the muscles of the back of your neck and upper back and create an imbalance. If you stand normally and have someone look at you from the side, if your head is in front of your body, rather than directly over your shoulders, that is considered head-forward. Your ear, shoulder, and hip should all be in a straight line. In head-forward posture, the muscles that normally hold the head up, are working much harder to their job. think about holding a bowling ball with your elbow bent, it's pretty easy, but if you hold the ball farther away, it becomes more difficult and puts strain on the muscles. That's what happens in head-forward posture.

There you go, your functional anatomy lesson for the day!:goodvibes

A chiropractor can help with these issues, and more.

My original diagnosis was that I had a disk rupturing, but the last scan said that it was arthritis. Who knows! Posture is part of it...no doubt. But, it seems that my neck is easily injured and that it takes months to recover. The last time happened in June, my trip to WDW in July was not fun, and it was probably September until I started feeling better.

Some wardrobe changes will definitely help:

Never ever wear choker necklaces. Luckily they're not really in style (although I still see them) but many think it *covers* the area when in fact, it acts as a *bullseye* drawing attention right TO the area its trying to hide.

Same thing with turtlenecks. Many think it covers the neck but it usually draws attention to it, especially when the skin is pushed up and over it. Eww

*V* necks and squared necklines are the best. They give the illusion of line instead of roundness, also drawing the eye down and away from the neck.

HTH.

Ask around for a referral to a chiropractor. Chiropractic care can really help arthritis, not reverse it, but definitely slow down the damage.

thanks for the tips, they make alot of sense!

I was just really hoping that exerciser thing would help tone that skin before it really becomes an issue. You know, be proactive rather than reactive. I guess we'll see if anyone around has had any success with it.

I have looked up the product on amazon.com and browsed through the reviews...might be helpful. People seem to like it, although I remember looking into this maybe 6 months ago and back then the reviews were bad so I stopped investigating...good luck...

I didn't even think about Amazon, I'm never on there. Since I read your post, I went on and checked the reviews on there. For every good there was a bad review, so I think it's probably one of those things, you either love or you hate and it's not going to work for everyone. Which doesn't make me wanna run right out and buy it, I don't have that much skin that needs to be toned, I was just hoping to be proactive rather than reactive. Oh well, I'll just have to think about it.

I read the reviews on Amazon and thought they sounded pretty good. Most of the bad reviews were about the company selling it on TV, not about the device. I ordered one a couple of days ago for less than $15. For that price, it is definitely worth trying for me. :thumbsup2 I can't wait to try it. I think I will take before and after pics so I will know for sure if it's working.
