Bought a new car, drove it one day, don't like it at all. Not sure what to do. Trying to get dealer to take it back. Any ideas?

Not good, I'm afraid. We don't have a 'lemon' policy here like they have in the States. We picked up a new SUV in November and had endless problems with the way the dealership delivered the car. I wrote up to some car expert and they told me how to handle it. Ended up getting $200 for my trouble.

What car is it? What don't you like in it?
Good luck.

2008 Malibu

shake was supposed to be out of it before we picked it up.

When driving my husband does not like the type of transmission, not a lemon, just not the car for us. Drove it one day. The dealer does not have our bank info yet, but we did sign papers. Apparently there should have been some kind of a return policy in writing, we haven't looked at the papers yet. Here's hoping.

My grandfather was able to return a brand new Cadillac about a week after buying it. Not too sure what the issue was, but after much begging it was returned. So it can be done! I just have no idea how you'd go about it, except maybe insisting the car does not perform/drive as you expected?

My brother also returned a car before. He had purchased a new Grand Am, then found out he would be moving away and didn't need it (within about 2 days of buying it). Your best best is probably just to contact your dealer.
Good luck!!

THE DEALER IS TAKING IT BACK. HOORAY! NICE CAR, BUT NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED. OR WANTED. We are driving a 2003 Grand Prix and trying to find something similar, not having much luck.

Make sure you test drive the next one. A good dealer will let you keep it overnight.

GM generally lets you return within 30 days with a full exchange for something else. Good luck!
