"Is it just me or does nobody look particularly happy?"

look at the kids in the canoes!... the attorneys and insurance companies would have field day with that!
The last time we went to DL (only a few years ago) DH, DD & DS all went on the canoe ride! It's great! I hope the lawyers haven't taken it away since then! :(

Also, the young man waiting for the Jungle Cruise almost looks like it could have been my dad!! :scared1: He had family down in the area. :scratchin

Great Web Site!!!

They still do the kids in the canoes and without lifejackets:earseek:

Oh My Goodness!

there's a picture of part of the old strollers - I distinctly remember pictures that my mom has of my sister and myself in those old metal monsters!!!

How cool!:D

Did anyone notice the eagle on the pole in the photo with the Mermaids? Disneyland had (has?) two Autopia tracks, this was at the entrance to the Fantasyland track, the ride sponsor was Richfield oil, predecessor to ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Co).

I knew there were real mermaids! I can remember seeing them as a kid there! That is just too funny!
I asked about it one day and everyone laughed! Now I have proof!

Now can anyone remember seeing naked ghosts on the hanging light fixture in the haunted house? It was in the dining room/ballroom. There used to be a couple sipping from champaigne glasses. I remember them when I was a kid and it was so funny because they were naked!

My mom has some Disneyland pictures from that time frame. I will have to try to get them and scan them!

those pictures were fun - thanks for the site.
And I totally agree that the bunny is SCARY!

We have old home movies of Disneyland in the late 50's and early 60's!! We weren't forced to wear dresses, though. Pedal Pushers (AKA Capri pants) were the thing back then!LOL:rotfl:
