Wavering on Biergarten - should we or shouldn't we?

I booked Biergarten for dinner one night for the 5 of us plus my in-laws (7 total). Now after reading several bad reviews on All Ears I'm getting nervous. Should we cancel? I thought the entertainment would be nice for the kids (and in-laws) but will we be sorry? Should I just change our ADR to either Kona or Cape May Buffet (two that I wasn't able to fit in this trip)?

THanks for any advice.

I like the Biergarten... It's not fine dining but it's fun..IT's a cheaper TS meal at EPCOT and it's good, not great..I love the dessert bar,and the experience is fun

We didn't have high expectations for Beirgarten - we went because we had a Germanphile as a guest and thought she'd enjoy it. But we were pleasantly surprised. Had I had high expections I'd probably have been disappointed.

It is German food. Sausage, red cabbage, speatzle, potatoes. Lots of vinegar. I can make a meal from red cabbage and speatzle, so I was happy.

I loved Biergarten. My kids are very finicky, so it was not their favorite, but they went down to the dance floor and entertained other diners. The food was great if you like German cuisine (no exceptions). I also loved the atmosphere.

We went as a party of eight and the only person that was really thrilled with it was me (it was for my anniversary). We had my brother-in-law who is an EXTREMELY picky eater. Our six year old granddaughter was concerned about smelling sauerkraut (she can't stand it). It got eight thumbs up from my group. The in-laws liked the entertainment, the granddaughter couldn't smell sauerkraut from the dance floor or our table. The picky eater rolled out of there. I'd definitely give it a try.

We only ate once and loved it. My hertiage is German and do cook german food, but was especially pleased with food that they had.

I can't go any more due a condition that have that does not allow me that kind of food anymore. :Pinkbounc

Seems lately as a repeat restaurant I have eaten here more so. It is a good place for a group, which has been part of the reason for eating here.
I think the meat they have on the buffet is the best around.
Biergarten is not for everyone's taste. But it is pretty good and reliable. The entertainment is a nice plus too. :thumbsup2
Biergarten has replaced Akershus for me since Norway went all princess.

We loved it! It's a very unique dining experience - I think you all will enjoy it. The food is good - something for everyone. The entertainment is great. Enjoy!! :thumbsup2

The entertainment is fun, the food is kind of "eh" in my opinion. The good thing is that the selction is so HUGE that you're bound to find something you'll enjoy, or something for a picky eater. It would be perfect for a large group because of the way the tables are set up.

We love Biergarten. We have been going since 1995. It really is a great restaurant. Everyone is different though. If you think this kind of food appeals to you, I would try it. Not everyone likes the same things and any meal on any given day could have an off day.

I can't say anything about Biergarten since we haven't tried that yet, but if you you mentioned you were also considering Kona Cafe--do not miss out on that one. We had the BEST dinner at WDW there last September. Service was outstanding, food was fabulous--4 adults, 4 kids (2 picky eaters). We were all dying for dessert but couldn't find the room in our very satisfyingly full bellies. The caramel apple martini was awesome, as was the Beef Teriyaki. My husband had the Pan Asian Pasta and our friends both had a salmon dish. The foccacia bread they bring out with olive oil dipping sauce was really good, all the kids loved that too!

We've done Kona several times and really like it. However, I wanted to try something new this trip and since we have seven going I figured we would take up the whole table. I do like German food - the kids would probably eat what they always eat - chicken fingers. I liked the idea of the entertainment. Sounds like most of you like it so I think we'll give it a try.

:thumbsup2 Another thumbs up for Biergarten.....

I don't like German Food, but the atmosphere was really cool!

This is the first dining experience that I was disappointed with.
We went at 3:00 in the afternoon. The buffet was very poorly presented and the food in the serving dishes was almost empty in most of them.
We were just there in April and the bill was 50.00 for two of us and I really felt like I got ripped off. I would never go back again. The service was also poor.
I also didn't like sitting with other people. When we were seated, others at the table were finishing their dinner as we were starting and people were coming and going the entire time we were eating. Very unpleasant for me and as I said before, this is the first complaint I've ever had about anything at Disney.

We enjoyed the atmosphere of the Biergarten and the German band was very entertaining. The best food for me was the roast pork, spatzle  and somekind of german meatball. We didn't care for any of the desserts though. I would recommend you try it at least once. If you don't like it, you can at least say we tried it and don't have to return again.

We really like Biergarten and eat there each trip. We have been there so many times now that its become a little too old hat and we may opt for something new in its place next time. However it is a "must try at least once"
