Does anyone have personal opinions of the "Wave" in the Contemporary? We're going next week and that is one of the few resort restaurants we have not tried. We have ADR's but I can always cancel. Thank you for all input!

We ate there about a month ago and really liked it. The atmosphere was gorgeous, our waitress was great and the food was really good. The only negative was that we were in the first seating right at 5:00 and the sides with my sister's meal were kind of cold. We were in a hurry to get to MNSSHP, so she didn't say anything. Our waitress was so great that I'm sure she would have gladly replaced the cold food if we had asked without any attitude.

I really dislike the dining room. It's just so bland and open that I feel like I'm in a cafeteria. However, you can take a full meal in the lounge, which is gorgeous. I think that some of their menu offerings are a little boring, but it's a decent spot for a drink and a casual meal. I like the food at the Grand Floridian Café and the Kona Cafe more, though. I'd choose either over the Wave if trying to find a casual sit-down meal in close proximity to the Magic Kingdom.

We've eaten at the Wave 2-3 times, dinner and breakfast. We really like it a lot better than many other Disney restaurants. Food has always been good and we really like the breakfast buffet. I would never compare the dining room to a cafeteria - not sure I get that. It depends on what time you are there of course, but it has been VERY quiet and sedate when we've eaten there, but we usually pick "off" times. I think the DR is very pretty. I was going to post a photo, but I guess I don't have it on this computer.

We ate there with our DD and DSiL about a year ago. We all ordered something different, and each of us enjoyed our meal. We'd eat there again. And, the bar is really nice.

I like the Wave, but I don't love it. If I'm in the area around meal time I will definitely consider it as an option. However I just don't think it's special enough to warrant a special trip.

Thanks for all the reviews, I guess we'll keep our ADR's and give it a shot. Thanks again.

I am a hard core foodie and it is one of my top choices at WDW. It does not have a broad menu, but it has seasonal foods and super fresh quality.
