Wave Phones ??????????

First time DCL Cruiser, heading out July 24th on the Dream. What exactly are Wave Phones, How do they work, and is there a charge for them ? Thanks

They work like cell phones on the ship. No charge unless you lose one.

Each room has 2...you can text/call each other/call the room...if you need extra ones, you pay a deposit on the extra ones. We loved them...did not take them off the ship so not sure if they work off ship..

Loved the Wave Phones on our recent Magic cruise, especially with a 12yo and two teenagers. We had adjoining rooms, so we got four phones. My DH and I shared one, and each one of our DD's got a phone. The Text Messaging feature was great, and all three of our kids were very responsible with the phones. We found only one place on the ship where they did not work...the "secret" deck on 7-Aft (you just have to step inside by the 7-Aft elevators to use the phones). They do NOT work off of the ship (although they would have been great to use on Castaway Cay).

I guess they do work on Castaway Cay...glad we didn't bring them onto CC, however, due to the torrential downpour during the afternoon while we were on CC (our 12yo and her Edge friends got soaked). Would hate to have ruined or lost one of these phones (ouch...big fee for damages/loss of phone!)

They are not the best phones for texting as they do not have a full keyboard. I found them somewhat awkward to use for texting.
