Waterside dining at Blue Bayou

Since I assume most folks would want to sit at a waterside table at Blue Bayou for lunch, what would be the best time to request one? Is it better to go early, say, just after they open or later, perhaps right before they change over to dinner?
Also, we're planning on going around Memorial Day. Is it possible to not do ressies and get a table as a walk-in, just in case we can't get the ressies in time?

Thanks,

I would get a PS for sure. We went on a VERY rainy and uncrowded day about 3 weeks ago, and it was still packed inside Blue Bayou. We had a PS for 12;30pm, and arrived at 12:10 and said we were willing to wait for waterside. We were seated at 12:25pm.

We must have been very lucky - we just turned up on a very wet Sunday night, and although we had to wait 40 minutes for a seat, were given a table right next to the water without even asking (I figured as we hadn't booked we had no chance of this).

But all the seats have good views of the ride, so even if you don't get a seat next to the water, you still get the atmosphere.

Request it when you make your priority seating and then again when you check in. If you really want the water front table, tell them you are willing to wait for it.
