I have read suggestions about wearing waterproof makeup and sunscreen. That sounds great to me.
It's not hard to find sunscreen. Anyone have any name brands of waterproof makeup they'd like to suggest? I need to start shopping!
Thanks!

We were in the parks the 21st - 29th. I used Revlon's Colorstay makeup and it worked like a champ!!
On our last trip in July, 2003 my makeup (Lancome) slid off by 11:00 AM every day. YIKES :earseek: :earseek:

I really do not like regular waterproof makeup, but I've found regular products that work just as well. For foundation, I use Lancome's Teint Idole - it is not waterproof but it is long-lasting and I've never had a problem even when we spend all day at the parks. I ususally do need to do a touch-up before dinner but that's mainly just becuase I like to look and feel 'fresh' before we sit down to eat. For eyeshadow, I use regular eyeshadow with a waterproof base underneath - works like a charm. :).

The new Cover Girl "Outlast" brand just came out with a foundation, I got the free sample/coupon from their website but the color is too dark for me. Just for kicks I put some on my hand to see how long it would last, and it certainly was waterproof, but came off with soap & water.

I would try something like this first, then you could always resort to the more expensive products. Estee Lauder's Maximum Cover is a full-coverage foundation that is waterproof.

GL!

KimR,
Teint Idole is what I usually use, and that's what ran during 2003!! I think it was trying to do the marathon!!!

The thing about teint idole is in order to get the maximum 'long-lasting' benefit, you must wear moisturizer underneath; otherwise it is no better than any other foundation. I use Bienfait Total moisturizer and that combo seems to work well. Granted, I've never tried to do a marathon, but if I did I think running foundation would be least of my worries. :faint:

I swear by Covergirl's Outlast lipstick. It does take some getting used to since it goes on like paint, has to dry on your lips and literally won't come off without make-up remover! It sounds weird, but I have actually thrown out all my regular lipsticks! They give you a gloss stick to moisten it periodically, but I found that Chapstick or Carmex works fine also. If you like a lined look, wait till the lipstick dries and line on top of it, then use the gloss.

If you like the Outlast, watch for "buy one get one free" periodically at Walgreens. Otherwise, I found Walmart to have the best price. Don't forget to buy the Covergirl make-up remover or you won't be able to get it off, I kid you not!!! :earsgirl:

The best waterproof eyeshadow I've ever used is MAC paints...they will stay on no matter what and they never crease!! I'm a bit of a MAC freak though, I use their whole line (except for blush - I use NARS)

I find its not so much your foundation as the powder you place over it. I always use a good compact of pressed powder, Clinique and Origins are two of my favs. I touch up with the powder lightly to set the foundation. After swinmming, I touch up my foundation with a good make up sponge. For eye
'shadow, stay away from anything that is cream or frosted. That will melt right off. Use a good powder shadow.

i like to use MAC... i think that they carry a waterproof foundation as well...

but one trick-type thing that i heard from someone who is a makeup artist, and occasionally does some work for a soap opera, or a spanish novela, is that you can spray a mist of waterproof hair spray, it will do the trick...

never tried it though, too afraid that it will clog my pores, or something... but she says it works...

:earsgirl:

I personally Ido not like the feel of a lot of stuff on my face and so I use a tinted moisturizer or bare esentuals powders.....but I am going in august and I am also curious about something with staying coverage ( i don't mind if it doesn't have spf because I will apply that first)

As for eyes I too use MAC paints and love them, you can not go wrong with mayebelline waterproof, I've spent a lot of $$$ on mascara and good old mayebelline is still the best IMHO. As for lips I just tried the new Revlon colorstay sheers. I like it because the color is not as heavy as the colorstay stuff usually is and it comes with a nice gloss that you can reapply easily so that it is not cakey! hope that helps! :sunny:

THanks!

Tammi67, MAC is a makeup line they carry at Macy's as well as other department stores.

Oh, ok. Thanks.

How do some of these makeups you all are suggesting work with oily skin?

I use Lancome's. They have several varieties but the one I use comes in a small, round disk. I love it because my eyeshadow goes on much smoother and looks fresh all day long.

I have super oily skin, and MAC is one of the only things that work for me.
The paints will stay on in a hurricane!
As for foundations, I think MAC has 10 different types. I used their Studio Fix which is a sheer powder, but I still get oily so I touch it up with their Blot powder which is fantastic. Works like a charm to keep the oil at bay all day as well as stay on all day and night. I love the stuff! You can check them out at maccosmetics.com

A lil pricey but definitely worth it. I love their eyeshadow which is like the only thing I have from there because I mostly use Estee Lauder. I just re-apply @ Disney and don't have a problem w\ it:)

I'm with you on this one. Even though I go in the cooler months I just can't be bothered worrying about it during park time. Ponytail and no makeup during the day is the way to go for me.
