I want to purchase a water proof camera/video recorder for the cruise... Do any of you have one that you love/hate? And why? Can they be used for scuba diving? Thanks friends!

I use the Olympus tough 8010 I believe is the model. I love it we take it to the park and don't have to worry if it rains we can keep shooting, and its amazing in the pool at the resort.

I got this for my daughter at Christmas and she thought it was fine. It is blue and came with the floater strap.

The blue is not available for that price at amazon - only the gray. The blue is available at Target online with the strap and case for $80.

But looking at the bag mentioned before...

I've lost two Olympus Stylus Toughs during different Disney Cruises. I followed all directions and Olympus was less than helpful. I have a Pentax now.

Great find! But look at the 'fitting guide' - they have several models depending on the camera:

Yes, they do. The link was to the one I purchased. We love it and have used it for whitewater rafting, swimming at the pool, or even filming Splash Mountain...anytime you are concerned about getting it wet!

Have a Lumix DMC-ts20 and have been very happy with it. The only down side is that you have to remove the battery and put it in a separate charger. You can not plug the camera in to charge the battery.

go to amazon and look up the kodak playsport, its a waterproof/shockproof/damn near indestructible. Takes great outdoor pictures and is also really good for video. I shot our entire disneyland vacation on this and it worked great.

We got this too. Was just looking for the underwater feature but this did so well underwater and above water that we didn't use anything else. I was pleasantly surprised how great the colours were. Not SLR quality, but good for family pics. :goodvibes

I didn't want to spend a fortune because I have a really expensive SLR camera. I went to Costco and bought for 100 dollars a Fujifilm XP. It's really tiny so it is easy to carry or put in a pocket for active adventures. It is water/shock/ dust/ freeze proof. I was very happy with it. For one of our port excursions we went horse back riding and snorkeling. It had no problem handling the dust or water. We also were happy with the quality of the pictures when we got home.

I loved that camera - loved it. Small, nice pic/vid quality. It was $150 from costco***** in 2010. Then, we went to St John & DH went snorkeling too deep. Pressure cracked the housing. Lasted just under 2 years. Got a new one that we can take deeper - a Nikon Coolpix AW100. It was about $100 more than the Fuji, but it's waterproof to 33 ft.

I have a sea life DC14000. Is a standard point and shoot cameria . Kit comes with a water proof case that good for a 200ft dive. All controls and buttons can be accesses while in the case. Contols are very easy to use with or with out gloves

I'm a minimalist when it comes equipment and cameras. Although I love my Nikons, I hate lugging around equipment. I have found that my iPhone takes great pictures and I've taken many "wet" shots with it using a waterproof case. I have found that the LifeProof case works great.

My bro is on his third LifeProof case. Yes, like OtterBox, they replace the case, but I don't want to risk my phone getting wet. I'm glad it works for you!!! I love using my iPhone for pics and vids.

I love my Canon Powershot D10 that's waterproof up to 33 feet. The newer version is a D20.

Olympus TG-1.
We looked at several before the cruise. But this was the toughest and deepest for the cameras we looked at. We especially loved the GPS feature which allowed us tag where we were at on the cruise. We took it WDW as well. It has several "magic" features that made taking pics fun. Took underwater pics as well.

I'm looking to replace my waterproof camera before our cruise in June. My son took over my other one, lol! I also want one with a little faster speed. I would love to see some pictures taken with all the cameras recommended! Thanks!

I love my D10 too!!!! I've hat it down to 75ft diving, and it still took great pictures. I spoke with another diver, who has had his down over 110ft with no problems as well. He said the only thing he found was that he couldn't switch between photo and video at that depth, he had to stick to one mode.

At Costco I found the Panasonic lumixTS4 for only 200.00!! And the Nikon AW 100 for $230 . We are constantly hiking and doing water sports... Now.. Which one should I do?
