Waterproof Boxes?

I read in the Unofficial Guide to WDW that you can purchase waterproof boxes on a string in the gift shops at BB and TL. Has anyone ever used these? Are they bulky or annoying to wear all day?

TIA!

We have the Disney waterpark neck wallet and it is large enough to hold our passes and a loose vehicle key. And with two ziploc sandwich bags our passes usually stay dry. YMMV but it works okay for us.

We too swear by them. They are not heavy so they don't rub on your neck.

Other than my camcorder, that is all we are carrying in tot parks this year.

I love the waterproof boxes too- You can find them in any resort gift shop. I primarily use mine for my cell phone- Its made of hard enough material so It protects it from getting broken. Also keeps it dry on Kali or pop-up rain storms! :)

I believe that thinner waterproof boxes are available that are specifically for passes.

I have a small one that I bought at a Dive shop. It holds a room key, a car key, and some cash. I loop it around the strap of my swimsuit and can wear it all day. :) :)

I wouldn't buy them at the parks... they are all over the place, Five Below, Target, Walmart, Bed, Bath and Beyond, etc. MUCH cheaper than at WDW.

Just beware that they are not "waterproof".... at least the ones you buy at the BB gift shop. Once a castmember overheard DD12 & I commenting on how hers had leaked & gotten her room key wet & the cast member replied that they were not waterproof & things could get wet.

I agree with this. We used one of the boxes when we were on a cruise one time and everything inside it was soaked when we got out of the water. Luckily it was only a few dollars and our sail and sign cards which dried out with no damage. I don't know how the one we used compares to the ones at Disney, but I would never trust a box again after that. After that experience, we invested in an Aquapac (www.aquapac.net) and it worked wonderfully at the waterparks and even being submerged in the wavepool.
