We were doing some trip planning last night.....and we were thinking of making a late afternoon visit to one of the waterparks (BB or TL) - they are open till 7pm. How busy are the waterparks late in the afternoon and into the evening?? And I've heard the waterparks are busiest at the weekend. Is this still the case?

:)

The waterparks are busier at the weekends as thats when the locals tend to go. We have noticed that it does get quieter as it gets towards afternoon time, i think alot of people just go for the morning, we always end up staying the whole day until closing!

We went in the waterparks at tea time and you had no problem getting a ring on the lazy creek and having a relax. We didn't go on any of the slides so I cannot tell you about the lines for these. We just thought it was a good way to cool down and relax for a couple of hours before going back into a park. Our hotel was on the south end of IDrive so it made more sense to cool down in a Disney park than go back to the hotel.

Depending on what time of year you are going Cath, the only problems we have encountered about going to the Water Parks in the afternoons are the thunder storms.
You have to get out of the water...they close the slides etc until the storm passes.

Hi Cath
Last year we went all day and it did get quieter in the afternoon - that was in March - also I found it fiarly empty a CM did say that Americans won't come out to waterparks unless it's really hot! lol

Going in an afternoon as been fine for us on previous trips moderate amounts of people, was just hard at Typhoon Lagoon to get a sun lounger etc.
Good luck with the planning :thumbsup2

We've never been to the water parks for a whole day. We always go mid-afternoon. As someone has already said a lot of people have gone by then, so we have never had a problem with finding somewhere to sit, ie, chairs or sunloungers, and the lazy river is not as crowded.
