Is it worth a visit to one of the waterparks for our adults only 10th anniversary trip in Sept? If so, which one? Thanks!

Here's my 2 cents-I like Typhoon Lagoon more than Blizzard Beach. How many times do you get the chance to swim with sharks? And the wave pool is awesome-even for adults! Also, the new Crushin' Gusher is great! Rode it last Sept, looking forward to returning this Sept. That being said, if you like the chute rides, where you ride down on your back with your legs crossed at the ankles, you'd probably like BB more.

We will be hitting a water park on our first day down and still undecided on which one. Could you elaborate on the swimming with the sharks? :scared1: This is the first I have heard of this.

The shark reef (not sure on the exact name) is a swim through aqarium with sharks and other fish in a simulated coral reef environment. You put on a mask snorkel and fins and swim from one side of the tank to the other. You are told repeatedly not to kick with your legs, just paddle with your arms, and not to stop. It is not a very large tank, I'm guessing maybe 20-30 feet across and the sharks stay far away from you near the bottom of the tank. I really thought this was cool! Plus the water is freezing cold which felt great in August.

It is called "Shark Reef". BTW, until a larger one was built in Japan, TL had the largest wave pool in the world, now it is only second largest. Also, for the first hour or so after opening it has surfing waves every 90 seconds, then about once every half hour.

WE love the waterparks. We each have a different fav. DH loves BB bc of the slides. I love TL bc of the scenery and the wave pool. We make sure to go to both (usually more than once) everytime we visit :fish:

I like TL bettern than BB. TL has a beautiful Hawaiian atmosphere; very lush. The new water coaster type rides are incredibly fun.

Out of 6 visits to WDW, I honestly can say that each visit to Blizzard Beach has been the high light of each trip!! :thumbsup2

Funny thing is I'm not even a "water person"! But we (DS's 10 and 13) LOVE the place! We love the lazy float river, the awesome wave pool, the exciting family raft, the toboggan race, etc. You can choose your level of excitement with a variety of water slides or just work on your tan.

We are very sad that we can't squeeze in a visit to BB when we are there next week - it will be the 1st time that we have missed it :sad2:

it so is...

BB if you like the thrill
TL if you like the leasure (Although the big wave is a big thrill too)

Enjoy; I did when I was at TL solo....

...prefers blizzard beach.

Slides seem to be better and the park seems to be cleaner (I mean less cluttered....more leaves in water, etc at TL). Both are alot of fun, we just prefer BB.
