I'm planning to head over to Typhoon Lagoon in July 2011 since my girls have never been to a waterpark and they have been wanting to go to one. I was thinking of going to Aquatica too and make it a 2 day water park trip.

Is there anything I should know about Aquatica? I'm going with my wife and 4 girls (at the time they will be 9, 7, 5 and 3.) I haven't been to Typhoon Lagoon in several years and without children so I'll be a noob to this. Are there child swap options or will we have to bite the bullet and wait double for rides?

Also, is Discovery Cove worth going to? What ages would be good to go there?

Thanks.

We love going to water parks in the summer. We started with Typhoon Lagoon when my girls were younger. It's great for younger kids like yours. We never had to use Child swap so not sure if it's available. It would be hard to walk back up the stairs and down in order to swap. Went to Aquatica twice since it opened, my kids are in late teens so they thought it's a little boring except couple of rides. There were plenty of families with young children at the park. Your girls will enjoy this park because it's new and colorful. The best bet is for you to split up, one takes the older girls while the other take the younger ones. You can always meet up at one of the lazy rivers.

We also went to Discovery Cove three times in the past. It's quite expensive and the dolphin water was too cold for my daughter who was 7. She was afraid of the fish and stingrays coming toward her and did not like birds eating out of her hands. she totally enjoyed more the last two times we went and she was older than 10. I've seen young kids cry in the stingray pools because the rays are quite big to them. Discovery cove is beautiful and it's worth the money for kids who are 10 and up and can swim like a fish. That is just my opinion. Hope it helps.
