We are visiting WDW from May 21 - May 29. We plan to go to one or both water parks during our visit. What are your thoughts on getting to the park around 2 pm and spending the afternoon there? Read somewhere that this is an ok time to go because a lot of people who have been there since opening are starting to leave. We've never been in May before, so not sure about the crowd situation...know that they sometimes close the water parks when at capacity. Do you think this is a good idea, or do you recommend getting too the park at opening ( or earlier for EMH)? Thanks for any tips.

When we went to BB in September(very slow time), we had a good 2 1/2 hours before longer lines started to form on the slides and the place started to get crowded. At 2pm, it was still crowded. Some of the lines DS didn't even want to wait in.

I would go at opening, then leave earlier, if you wanted to .

Another problem with that strategy is that in late May you start to get into frequent thunderstorm season, and that's around the time of day where storms begin to get very likely. The water parks will close in thunderstorms.

I would say that you should go early. We have Water Park AP's and have gone early, late, you name it, we've gone. I've never encountered crowds that would make me switch the time I arrive at the parks.

Both parks will always have a lot of people, but are quite manageable. The only exceptions are below.

Shark reef
Summit Plummet
Crush n' Gusher
Do these rides early as possible. The lines can get really long!!

Thanks for your input. We were originally planning to spend the morning at MGM and then head to water park, but think we will switch things around and do water park in the morning and MGM afternoon. Do you think that using the EMH at the water park is worth it, or will getting there at 9:00 (regular opening) will be ok?
