Which resorts have water slides that would be appropriate for a 4yo who can't swim? Or would I be allowed to go down with him on the larger slides? I read somewhere that double riding was not allowed on the slide at CSR so I want to make sure I stay somewhere that has one I can go on with him or a smaller one that he can do himself. Does anyone know??

We have stayed at the BC, CR and BWV. Of these 3 only BC's Stormalong Bay had a slide intended for young children. Its is part of a small separate shallow pool at the foot of the stairway to the large slide. There are actually 2 slides that are parallel to each other. My 7yo dd and 4 yo dd absolutely loved these slides. One night they went down the slides 100 times each. I know because I was in charge of keeping track. They also loved the sandy bottom part of the larger pool. Overall they had a great time at the BC.

The slides at the CR and BWV are quite large and you need to be able to swim away from the landing area quickly. You would not be allowed to go down tandem with your son but you might be able to wait for him at the landing.

We stayed a night at Coronado Springs last summer before checking into our DVC room. We had a great night and the main pool was wonderful. It's very big and warm and we all enjoyed the water slide. It is long and gentle and plops you into a shallow area where Mom or Dad can easily catch the child. At one point you pass under a jaguar who spits water onto you! My son, who was 4 then, wore his life vest the whole time. There is a playground nearby and a shallow kiddie pool with splashy fountains. There is also a very large hot tub that can seat about 20 people. It was glorious! Coronado is very pretty and we enjoyed the scenery, the lake, the restaurant and all the twinkling lights.

My children (2, 4 and 5) did fine with the water slide at POR and the water slide at Grand Floridian. The older 2 wore vests and my youngest wore water wings (floaties). My husband was allowed to stand near the bottom of the slide just in case.

Thanks for the info. Just how long is the water slide at CBR? This was the resort I was leaning towards but I want to make sure the slide won't be too much for him. Would it be safe for him to go on by himself as long as I waited at the bottom for him (my DH would take him up to get on and then follow behind)?

The slide at CBR is rather small. Good for that age.

The main slide at SAB, the clown slide at BWV, the Volcano slide at the Poly all require that the person can swim, no water wings or lifejackets allowed, and no double riding.

There is a "kiddie slide" at SAB. That might be your best choice.
