My question is.....since I hear you get really wet on some of these water rides, can you change your shoes to water shoes before going on them? Or do sneakers have to be worn? I don't know how comfortable it will be to have to wear wet sneakers all day. I have three boys and I am not into the whole croc thing and they won't wear fllip flops. Are you even allowed to wear flip flops or sandals on rides?? Any advice would be great.

Except for Dueling Dragons and possibly Dr. Doom, I can't think of any rides that mention anything about shoes. Unless your feet are going to dangle and possibility lose a shoe on a ride, you shouldn't have any issues.

Me & My family always wear waterproof sandles (I wear Eccos, and the boys where Nike). I think it would be a pain taking shoes off and off to keep them from getting wet.

Have you taken a look at Crocs lately? They have other shoes that aren't the totally dorky looking shoes we've seen in the past.

I'm a total sneakers girl (42) for every day, but there's a Croc with one thin strap across the front that I wore to WDW from park opening to park closing with TOTAL comfort (in JULY). My family walked around with wet sneakers (from the tons of rain and the rides) and I was nice and dry in minutes (and no stinky feet either.

My sister just bought a pair of Nike sneakers for herself. (I think it was Nike). Anyway they are a cross between a sneaker and a water shoe. But she paid $95 for them. A little bit more than what I was looking to spend. I am going to have to put thought into this one. I guess it would be a pain to change all the time. I just don't like my boys in crocs (call me stupid). I just don't think they look good on boys. I know it is probably better to be comfortable than looking good. I just don't know if I can do it. Maybe I'll check out if Nike has a sandal that is kinda cool. It's going to take a lot to get my 13 year old in anything but a sneaker.

Thanks for the advice.

As long as you have some sort of shoe, you're fine. Water shoes/flip flops/sneakers/crocs/boots/whatever. On Dueling Dragons, loose shoes will need to be worn on hands or sat on. On Doctor Doom, put them on the ground or in the storage bin by your seat. You'll be fine everywhere else.

Yeah, if you wear sandals or shoes that may fly off, you do need to hold on to them on Dueling Dragons. I've personally seen many shoes laying on the ground during that ride.

Oh, but there's something about riding DD with your bare feet dangling.:goodvibes

We always wear sandals or Crocs when heading to IOA for the day. Nothing worse than wet socks and sneakers.

Thanks for the information on the Nike sandal. I was just at famous footwear yesterday! I didn't have sandals on my list to buy so I wasn't really looking at them. I'll have to check again because they look like something my son might wear. Thanks for the link. I'll have to hurry, their buy one/ get one half off sale ends soon.
