My DSis, DBil and DNieces (10 & 4) are going to Blizzard Beach this summer. My DSis really wants to get my 4 y/o niece water shoes and was wondering which kind (there are so many out there) are best for her to get for the 4 y/o???
Also Can you wear the water shoes on the rides at Blizzard Beach???
My 10 y/o DNiece was saying she would just wear flip flops could she wear them to the rides and then hold them to ride???
Thanks in Advance!!! :goodvibes

Target has Speedo swim shoes in the stores now. They have toddler/preschooler sizes.

I bought two pairs for my 4 and 5 year old sons. I buy them a pair of these every year, for going to our apartment complex pool. They are great!

And, the swim shoes CAN be worn on slides. I believe you have to take off flip flops, crocs, or other shoe types that can fall off easily, and hold them while you ride.

When I asked about kind she wants to know if the sock type, sandal type, mary jane type or berkiensock type... which would be the best for a 4 1/2 y/o girl???

Thanks for answer about that you can wear them on the slides I thought so but I wanted to be sure.

How about a pair or Keen's?

My kids wore them all last summer as did I. They can be washed in the washing machine as well. Plus they are super comfy (well the ones I have are) and they can be worn around the park as well.

I guess the answer for which type would be best depends on why she wants her to wear swim shoes. If it's to protect her feet while walking around then pretty much anything works. At that age, I'd stick with something that she doesn't have to take on and off for rides or hold onto as chances are they'll get lost (been there, done that! :lmao: )

The boys wore the Speedo swim shoes from the parking lot into the water park (and back out) but from there they went barefoot. I personally like the Speedo brand ones as they have very flexible bottoms, nylon mesh uppers and can close fairly snugly with velcro. They didn't care to wear anything on their feet in the water as it made it hard to swim and caused "drag" on their feet. They couldn't really hold them on the rides as they were using their hands to carry tubes or to hold onto the tube handles for the various slides.

Most people I saw at the parks wore flip flops while wandering from area to area and then were barefoot in the water and on the rides. I tossed my crocs into the bottom of the stroller once we got into the park and then didn't put anything on my feet until it was time to leave or when I went into the ladies' room.

If she does want something she can wear in the water, then go with something that drains the water really well to reduce "drag" and so they don't feel waterlogged and something that fits snugly so it won't fall off when wet.
