Water shoes at Typoon Lagoon?

Its been a few years since my last visit to TL and just cant remember! But just how necessary are the water shoes at TL? I have some for my ds (5) but was not sure if I should have some for my entire family. Thank you !

When we were there last Sept, I didn't wear mine at all. It was kindof neat being barefoot the whole day! I had my then 4.5 yo dd wear her's.

If you're going in the summer, the paths might be hotter. I don't know..... But, TL does sell them if you need.

We went in July, and it was definitely much easier to have the water shoes!!! I bought some for my family from Target for $3.99 (on sale). They didn't have my DH size, and I bought his at Walmart for $4.99.

When its hot out, it will be much easier on your feet if you have them!!

We went the last Friday in July. Took our water shoes and never used them. Typhoon Lagoon has lots of shade and they have water dripping/squirting in some path areas so you can cool off your feet if necessary.

I always wear water shoes at any of the waterparks. Even though they don't allow glass in any of the parks, and they keep them very neat and clean, you just never know what you're stepping in!

Last year, I forgot to bring water shoes with me and when I went to BB I discovered that they didn't have any in my size! (very small feet). So this year, I'm making sure I'm prepared!

We always go during the summer months. You can barely walk along the paths - they are so hot. We always take them with us.

I would advise everyone to use aqua shoes at any of the water parks. A couple of years ago, we were at TL in the shark reef and at the beginning where you are in waist-deep water on rocks, my DH stepped on something and sliced his foot open. I had to help him "hobble" all the way across the park to the nurses station where they treated and bandaged up his foot. They offered to call an ambulance, but the wound wasn't that bad. It did ruin the rest of our day at TL though. Staff was great and gave us two free tickets to come back...but I'll never go to another water park without wearing them. The worst part was that we had them, just weren't using them!!!
