Water retention

I wonder if any of you have any good tips on how to alleviate water retention. For a good couple of weeks out of the month my lower legs, ankles and feet (depending on what type of footwear I have on) really swell up. It is really uncomfortable and I would love to at least cut down on the amount of water that I am retaining. Any good ideas?

The best thing for you to do is drink a ton of water. Take your weight, cut it in half, and that's how much water you should be taking in. All of that water will help to push out the water you are retaining.
 
I've heard that if you add a little bit of cranberry juice (the unsweetened kind) to your water, it can help.
