Water Parks?

My DH wants to do Blizzard Beach, he watched the Travel Channel special on water parks, I'm not sure though. We have a 3 1/2 year old that is hesitant about pools and a 10 year old that will do small water slides. I don't do water slides, I just feel like it's a waste of money. I do want him to be happy but we are buying regular APs (expensive) and it will cost us about $100 for just 1 day at the water park. Opinions?

i have not been to either water park but am planning to go next trip. My son is not a strong swimmer so I am trying to decide which is best. Go to www.wdwig.com and you will find some detailed info on the two parks.

Thanks, I've looked at the information there, it's just hard for me to see spending the money when only 1 person wants to di the slides. I'm trying to talk DH into doing Seaworld instead, they are offering the Funcard again. It is $59.95 for adults and $49.95 for children and you get free admission for the remainder of the year until 12/31/04. That seems like a much better deal, you can even get Easypay on it, no hidden charges, I wisj Disney offered this.

Do you know for certain your 10 YO won't try any of the other slides? Most of the slides are curvy and fun - not scary. The family tube ride is a blast and once again really not scary. If the 10 year old maybe would be willing to try some of those then maybe he/she and DH can go while you and the little one go to the pool or mini golf or take naps!!

If the 10 YO really won't do anything though - I tend to agree with you. It is very expensive for one person. I guess he could go by himself - but that's really not very fun!

There is an area just for your 3 yr. old that has shallow water and sand to play with. For your 10 yr. old there is another area just for that age level. My DS was 10 last year and loved it! The slides are short, not covered and there is the best swim area for them with ropes and pretend ice bergs. You are able to sit on chairs (some are in the shade) and watch while they have fun or you can get in the water that is for swimming. There is also a wave pool with very small waves. There is something for everyone at this park. The family raft ride is great! We always do this together, but you will get wet even though you are inside of a big raft-like tube. We stayed the whole day so it was worth the money to us.

Thanks for the info. he will do small slides. I don't mind going to the water park, so I will do whatever DH wants at this point. I'm just so happy he said we could get APs again.

One idea is let your DH go alone. You take the kids and do a non-rush slow tour of MK. Have a great day with the kids and let the DH spend the afternoon at the waterpark.

I just might do that with my 2 18yr olds. I might let them off at the waterpark and go to Epcot for the day and just take my time.
They can take Disney transportation and meet me when they are done. This would be an extra water park day, because I plan to go one day to both water parks.

I am the type of person who will do things by myself, eat out, shop, go to a movie, but DH will not. I wish he would, it would solve the problem, I would just go to MK with the kids.
