Water parks

Is there a discount for DVC members or ap holders at the water parks?
Thanks.

We usually get the PAP so the water parks are included. But there is small discount for DVC members.

Annual passholder discount for water parks: Adult (age 10 and up):thumbsup2 $4 off, Child $3 discount.

If you plan on going to the water parks twice or more in a year, get the water parks annual pass. If you go to either water park and Disney Quest more than twice in a year, then I would upgrade my annual pass to the Premium Annual Pass.

DVC Annual Pass is $419 and the Premium Annual Pass is $524. Price difference is $105.

One day water park admission is $52.19 and DVC members get $4 off, so $48.19. Disney Quest is $45.80 and DVC members get $4.58 off, so $41.22.

Two water park days is $96.38. A water park and Disney Quest day is $89.41. Two Disney Quest days is $82.44.

For $105, on top of your annual pass, you get unlimited admission to the water parks and Disney Quest. Also the PAP discount at most merchandise locations is 20% instead of the regular AP discount of 10%.

so if i wanted to add the PAP to my existing AP, i wouldn't necessarily have to pay the entire difference to upgrade depending on my renewal date?

That's what they did with our DD's a couple of years ago when we upgaded hers. At the time, it was cheaper to do the upgrade than to buy a water park ticket for her for a day because it was so late in our AP year.

I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain that's what I remember.

At one time, Disney would charge a pro-rated amount for upgrading from an annual pass to a premium annal pass. That's no longer the case. It's now $105 (plus tax) to upgrade a DVC AP to a DVC PAP, regardless of how far you are into the year.

Interesting, Dave. I guess that's changed now then.

Great breakdown and examples. I've been considering upgrading just my 15 y/o DS's pass for the summer trip (I have a few plus options left on old old passes that I don't want to use if he plans on going to the waterparks and DQ multiple times over the trip). The 20% discount is pushing me over the edge - I just need to convince him to shop with me one day (easier said than done!)
