Water parks in October?

I have been three times in October and only had one cold evening but it was very windy. The locals how ever were complaining that it was cold and were in their jeans and hoodies :0 me and DH were jumping in and out of the air conditioning.

The only time I've ever felt a slight chill in Orlando was in late January, but only or an hour or two first thing in the morning. I still wore shorts and tshirt though but wife wore a jumper.

lol, makes me think of a friend in Mauritius who dons a hat, gloves and scarf whenever the temperature goes below 90 :rotfl2:

Hoping you water park lovers can help me, I was told we should get water shoes for the kids because the pavements at the waterparks get scorching hot. Our first trip to the waterparks will be 25th October and we plan on getting there at 10am so do you think this will be a problem at that time of year and time of day? We've never worn anything on our feet at pools/beach/etc before even in hot summers in France and I assumed it was an over cautious bit of advice but thought I'd check here :)

I believe Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be closed for its annual refurbishment from Sunday 28th October through to 5th Jan so you might want to plan to go to that park first on the 25th.

Disney's Blizzard Beach will still be open for the remainder of the year and they will close from 6th Jan through to 28th Feb 2013 for refurbishment.

are you allowed to go down the slides in crocs etc??

i was thinking about this the other day i went in july and remember walking to a slide at typhoon lagoon and got half way and was just in agony ended up with a huge blister on the bottom of my foot!! ( maybe im just unlucky coz i sat on a ants nest or something in seaworld the following week and got about 9000 bites on my bum )

sometimes they will allow you, sometimes they won't
most of the time they will ask you to take them off and hold them while going down the slide (anyway, crocs will most likely try to get off your feet if you keep them on)

water shoes are allowed on slides. (or so it was last time)
