Water Parks Height Requirements?

DS (8) is too tall for the little kids areas of the water parks. Are they very strict with the maximum height requirements? He is an extremely anxious little guy and doesn't do many rides at the parks. He really wants to go to the waterparks. However, he's been looking at the pictures of the little kids areas. If he is sliding with his little brother will they let him "go along". I hate to get there and have him in tears.......

Of course, YMMV, but we found them to be very strict on the slides at Blizzard Beach when we went two years ago. I have three kids who were 6, 4, and 1-1/2 at the time and it seemed that there were very few things that all three of them could do. My 6 year old was too tall for the little kid area and my 4 year old was too short for the older stuff. They did allow my 6 year old to play in the little pool area with my other two, but she couldn't do the slides (they had a cm measuring at the top of them). We went because we had free tickets but found it very stressful to have three kids of different heights and only 2 of us. We've decided not to do the waterparks again until the kids are older and right now they are perfectly happy just spending the day at the pool of our resort.

What are the height restrictions by area or slide? Is there some place on Disney's website where this information is listed?

I've got the same concern as the OP, but have never been able to find the height info.
