Water, Parks, and More.....Worth it?

I heard rumors (not quite sure where....) that potentially both water parks may not be open during our Early August trip. Is the Water Parks and More option still worth it, instead of just buying ticket to whichever is open and the mini golf add-on you get for free with booking a package? We usually use it to go to BB once, TL once, and one round of mini golf?.

We booked a package, so we could pay over time and reserve our days now. Can we change tickets easily if we need to change in the next month or so?

Since 2020 only one water park has been open at a time so until something different is officially announced by Disney I would anticipate it to be the same.

Our family visits in August and enjoys the breaks going to the water park(s) offers us. If you have the PH option then adding the '+' in nominal. If you just have regular tickets it would depend on how many of the extras you intend to use.

The "mini golf add-on you get for free with booking a package" is a coupon, it's not really an add-on. It's given for any package booking regardless of what you have for tickets. In fact if you have the Water Parks & Sports, the extra mini-golf coupon may have no value because your ticket allow you to play mini-golf (before 4pm, which I think is the same for the coupon).

As PP says, if you already have PH tickets the Water Parks & Sports add-on is nominal (~$20). If you are adding it to base 1-park-per-day tickets that cost is roughly equivalent to a 1-day waterpark ticket. Depending on the length of your stay/ticket days, you might or might not have room in your plans to get good value from it.

And again, as long as you have a package booked you are eligible for the Magical Extras which includes the mini-golf vouchers and some other discount coupons. So if you plan to utilize the resort pool and mini-golf just once, you may not need the Water Park & Sports option.

As long as you make the changes before the 30-day PIF date it should be fine. However keep in mind that if ticket prices increase between when you first booked and when you make the change, your package price will increase accordingly to the new ticket prices. If you "downgrade" tickets within the 30-day window (making a lower total cost) there is a change fee of maybe $50; if you upgrade during that 30-day window the change fee is likely to be waived.

We didn't realize before we bought tickets that the mini-golf on the hopper + ticket was only valid until 4pm. That's unfortunate.

How many in your group/party? Not sure whether it has changed but the mini-golf or water park coupon in your package used to be good for one date with one ortwo persons only.

You can upgrade the tickets after you get there and receive them (preliminary check in) or even as late as after you arrive at the water park, etc. In which case it is not necessary for everyone in the package to upgrade their tickets in the same fashion.

Not sure how it works with a package, but we often buy the most basic ticket or maybe add the park hopper, depending on our dining selections at first. Once we arrive we kind of get a feel for the weather and see if it's really going to be worth it for us. It really only takes a few minutes at guest services to upgrade the tickets. The cost is going to be the same whether you do it at the beginning of the trip or the end. We only like the mini golf in the evening, so that bonus is no benefit for us.
