Water parks and glasses (spectacles!)

Hi, I was hoping someone might be able to advise me about Disney's water parks and their policy on people who wear glasses! I'm really short sighted and have to wear glasses all the time, I don't tolerate contact lenses very well at all. A few years ago I visited a water park in Spain where I wasn't even allowed to wade in the wave pool if I had my glasses on and it ruined the day, I could literally see nothing and had no confidence to go on any of the rides. What can I expect at Blizzard beach and Typhoon Lagoon? I'd really, really appreciate any advice anyone can share. I'm nervous as this is our first trip and I don't want to "waste" time somewhere I can't really participate at all! Thank you so much....

There aren't any policies concerning wearing glasses. I've always worn them at the water parks. I haven't gone on the tall slides, but personally don't think I'd wear them then without a strap to make sure they don't fly off!!

I do not know the official policy. During my one visit to Typhoon Lagoon I only had to take my glasses off for the slides. They did let me tuck them in the front of my swimsuit so I could keep them with me to the top of each slide. The Typhoon Lagoon wave pool has giant glasses knocking off of you waves during part of the cycle. I would avoid the waves or wear a strap.

I wear prescription sunglasses at the water parks with no problems. I do use my older pair there, in case something happens to them.

Thanks so much for the replies, that sounds encouraging! I'll definitely look into getting a strap, don't know why I didn't think of that... it was just so off putting in Spain (Portaventura) they kept blowing a whistle every time I so much as dipped a toe in the kiddie pool with my son

You can purchase prescription swim goggles. We have them for our kids who need glasses. They just wear them all day.
