Hello, my little girl will be nine months when we go. Will she have to wear a life jacket at TL/BB (do they make you) or will she be ok without - we have just come back from SPain where we took her in the pool witho

We didn't go the water parks with DD when she was 9mths as she was happy in the pool at the resort. But I don't think they make you put them in life jackets.

DD now wears a 'float jacket' in the swimming pool and is learning to swim properly so we will get her a life jacket when we go to the water parks in September. She will be 15months and will have been walking on her own for 6 months by then so better safe than sorry :goodvibes

They did not make my DD wear one-I am going back about 2 years tho- We just took her float that she would sit in (like a rubber ring with leg holes) and she came with us in the pools and on the lazy river.

Thanks, we have one of those rings, were u allowed to use it on the lazy river? Also Freyja is going to swim lessons but is obviously too small to do any attempt at real swimming!

We took Seth he was 10 months, we wish we had just saved our time and hassle and gone to the pool at our accommodation. That said as adults what we saw of Typhoon Lagoon we loved and will be going back when the kids are bigger.

We tried to put one of those life jackets on Seth so we could go down the lazy river and he screamed the place down.

My two are water babies love the water, but it just wasn't happening for us that day.

There is a wee bit in my trip report of our 2.5 hours at Typhoon Lagoon.

Thanks Zeebs, we will use our resort pool but also know our daughter will love the lazy river if nothing else - just come back from Spain where NOTHING fazed her much to our astoishment so should be ok.

You are welcome, I hope you have a fab time. We didn't have a terrible time I guess it just wasn't quite what we expected, but we adapted.

We was allowed to use her ring thingy everywhere apart from on the rides (family raft rides etc)

The only time that we were questioned about it was at the park entrance - they thought it was a pool toy (like one of those blow up crocodiles) I explained what it was and they said it was fine and in we went.

My DD had a fab time - she loved the water and loved watching the other people splashing around!

We first took her at 9 months, then again at 11 months.

Both times we stayed away from the big rides - Even if they did not have a height min we left them out. I just didnt trust that she would be 100% safe (being so small) and I did not want to scare her.

We took her on the lazy river, in the large main pools, and in the childrens play area. If I am remembering correctly then the kids area at Typhoon lagoon was better than BB.

We arrived early to get a shady spot. Each time we tried to get a spot with sand as she loved digging and playing in it.

Also you can take cooler bags into the park, so if your dd is still using bottles you can keep them cool - we also took lots of bottles of water for us.

Hope this helps you - I think if your dd likes water then you will all have a amazing time, we got some brilliant pics!
