Water park with a 7 month old????

Myself, wife and 7mo daughter will be at WDW in April... Any thoughts on us spending a day at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon????

blizzard beach has a lovely area called tykes peak, right at the top of the peak there is a tiny little area for teenie babys, it's just a couple of inches to splash in, and some very little slides (where you would hold baby and slide her down)

Typhoon Lagoon also has a kids area with sand and a little river running through it - it would also be good for teenies, but there are lots of thigns that splash water around and my dd has never liked getting splashed in the face, so it didn't work so well for us.

Here's a second vote for Blizzard Beach. My 9 mo. old DD loved it! She played at Tyke's Peak and enjoyed the Lazy River innertube ride with her daddy. I think my DH was able to rent a life jacket for her for free at the place where you buy locker keys. (Can't remember the name..) Hope that helps!

So at these parks, are there places where we can get her out of the sun the majority of the day????

And you felt comfortable taking her on the raft ride????

My DH and I took our 3 year old DD and our 7 month old DD to Typhoon Lagoon. My DH thought the 3 year old would like it and she did like the kiddie section, but not much else. The baby and I floated on a tube on the creek that goes around the perimeter of the park and she napped. In my opinion, they would have had just as much fun at the hotel pool. DH was actually a little disappointed that the 3 year old was not interested in going on any of the 'bigger" rides she met the height requirement for. If we did not have the 3 year old with us, we probably would not have gone to a water park this trip. You might be happier at the hotel pool with a 7 mo. old!!

I just saw your post about the raft ride and made me remember...do not do the raft ride with an infant. We did the family raft ride at Typhoon Lagoon and I asked the CM if it was okay for a 7 month old. She replied there were no height restrictions, I just had to hold her in my lap (obviously). Anyway, since the tube turned on the way down, there was no way to avoid getting soaked. We kept going under waterfalls....I had to keep my body hunched over the baby's to try and keep the water from hitting her in the face. I definitely would not do this again with a baby!

There are places that are shaded that you can take your baby to. However, there are a lot of places in direct sunlight as well. Don't forget to pack a 30+SPF for baby and re-apply several times during the day. My DD had a lightweight cotton hat with a large brim that covered her face too. Also, I think baby must have swim diapers in order to go in the water.

My DH and I felt comfortable taking DD on the Lazy River. We held her tightly, had a life jacket on her, and protected her head from the water in the waterfalls. At BB, there is a cave where there are a couple of waterfalls with cold water. Further down the river, there is a shack in which water spits out the top of it in the form of a sneeze. (It will make more sense when you are there.) Other than that, it should be smooth rafting.
