Water Park Ticketing Question

I already bought park hoppers for our Spring 2016 trip just in case there is a price jump before then. We might consider spending a day in one of the water parks also. If we do, for the sake of convenience, can the water park tickets be purchased in advance at whatever theme park we happen to be in? And can we choose which water park to go to on a lark after buying, or do we need to specify which water park when purchasing?

A broader question is, do all Disney on-site ticketing locations have access to the entire inventory of available tickets? Say our daughter decides to join us for a day. Can I buy a one day ticket for the Magic Kingdom the day before at Epcot?

If you already have Park Hopper, I think the Water Park Fun & More upgrade is cheaper than an individual entry to the water park. You would then get as many entries to the water parks as you have days on your tickets. I am not 100% positive, but I am pretty sure any ticket window or guest services location can sell you any kind of ticket.

My numbers might be a little off, but they should demonstrate the value.
Adding the Water Park option to a multi-day base ticket: $64
A single day admission to the water park: $54
Adding the Water Park option to a multi-day hopper ticket: $26

If you already have the hoppers, just stop at any guest relations at the parks and add the option.

With very few exceptions, any ticketing window or Guest Relations can sell all types of tickets. All the theme parks sell MK tickets, MK can sell non-MK tickets, water park tickets are available everyplace.

And as others have pointed out, if you already have Park Hopper, Water Park Fun & More is cheaper than a single-day water park ticket.

Thanks everyone. I bought my 4 day park hoppers from Undercover Tourist.

I would have been ready to fork out the single day price for the water park, but, yes indeed, it looks like I can upgrade them for only $26 per person. Much cheaper that way even if we only use them once. I suppose the water park upgrade remains valid for 14 days, even after the theme park admissions are used up? We're planning to stay in Orlando 6 days, then go elsewhere in Florida for another 6 days. Maybe we can sneak in another water park visit before we head home.

We upgraded ours for about $25 each right at the waterpark ticket window. It was no problem at all.

Yes, the unused water park admissions remain valid for the 14 days even though all the theme park admissions are used up. And, with an unused or in-use water park admission still on the ticket, the ability to upgrade further has not been extinguished with the usage of the last theme park admission.

A catch-22 exists if your first planned activity is a water park and you have not yet added water park fun. The value of the ticket "for upgrade purposes" will not be elevated to current gate price (the ticket will not be bridged) when you try to add water park fun to the unused ticket outside the water park. And you cannot use the ticket first to enable bridging while at the water park.
