Water park ticket question

We are thinking of perhaps making a surprise trip in mid August and I'm looking at ticket prices from the Undercover Tourist and am a bit confused at the Water Parks & more option! We will most likely stay at either BC or YC but think we might like to go to a waterpark one day. We would be there for a maximum of 6 days. I was thinking of just getting the MYW 6-day pass and then adding the Water Parks & more, but it seems very expensive if we only plan on hitting a water park once. Last year we spent more time at the BC pool than anywhere else. Did not miss the hopper option at all and was so glad we didn't spend the extra money on it. So I guess my question is, what is the cost of just going up to the gate at either TL or BB and buying a ticket for the day? We would be 4 adults & 1 child.

The cost to add the waterpark option is $54 per adult and child for the week, when adding it to a MYW ticket. To buy a pass for the day, it would be $49 per adult and $43 per child. I would definitely add the waterpark if you can. You're basically paying the same price for the one day pass as you are for the week. We love Typhoon Lagoon. The Crush n Gusher and the wave pool/fake beach are awesome! When you add the Water Park option, you could also use one of your credits to go to Disney Quest in Downtown Disney, too.

Hi! If you're SURE you only want to go to a water park once, then, as Herb said, it is cheaper to just buy the tix OOP instead of the Water Parks and More Option. This also makes sense if some people in your party aren't sure they want to go to the water park, and want to play it by ear. If you're interested in Disney Quest or perhaps visiting both water parks, or one on more than one day, then definitely get the water parks and more.

The water parks are COMPLETELY worth it, even if you're staying at BC or YC. They are so much better than any other water park I've ever been to. Both BB and TL are great depending on the age of your child and the temperament of your adults TL is very well themed like a tropical getaway with more shade and more sandy beach area, and tends to be less crowded. It is my personal favorite. If your child is less adventurous about rides, then TL has very pretty slides that are approachable and easy to build towards. However, I also love BB, and it's generally the more popular park. There are more slides, and there is a lot of variety to them. Several are REALLY REALLY thrilling, and there's a great family raft ride, too, which is longer and more intense than the one at TL. BB also has attraction areas for older kids, too, who aren't ready for the more intense slides.

If you do go to a water park on a single day ticket, and then decide you want to go again or go to DTD, you can take that ticket and your MYW ticket and upgrade to add the WP&M option, getting the full value of the one-day water park ticket against the upgrade. (This is a rare exception to the rule that you can't combine tickets for an upgrade; with a water park or DQ one-day ticket, you can.)

So you don't need to decide to upgrade until you see if you really want to.

Also note that a Water Parks season pass is $99.95 for adults and 80.50 for children. If you will be returning within a year, this is also a really good bargain.
