water park refill mugs

a year ago my family went to blizzard beach and purchased a mug.
it was my understanding that this mug can be brought back any time without expiration for free refills--does this still hold true.
this is what we were told then. i recently read it can be refilled for half price.
does anyone know the answer?

You can bring your BB or TL mug back to the water parks and pay $5 to get all day refills. They put a new bar code on the mug and it's good all day.
