Howdy! My oldest DD9, has finally succeeded in talking me into a water park visit. Two questions:

1. Which Park? Typhoon Lagoon seems to have less height restrictions, but I've heard BB has a better kids space.

2. How do you handle slides with a not super swim independent kiddo? My youngest DD6 has had multiple lessons, but isn't exactly a fish. I know she'd love the tube slides, but can I wait for her at the bottom and have my mom take her up. I guess I'm just confused about dismounting.

1. Both are great.

2. Swimming isn't necessary - the water is only about 3 feet deep.

It is my understanding that you can go down first and wait at the bottom for her on the single rider slides.
There is one place that is super deep at BB (over 8 ft) in the Ski Patrol Training Camp - the zip line area and the Frozen Pips slide. Either have her avoid those or make use of the lifejackets they have available.

As PP said, there are life jackets at the park or you can bring your own from home.

You cannot actually wait right at the bottom of the slide - you have to get out of the water.

First year that we used the waterparks, my kids were 5 and 7. We went to both parks and liked TL WAY better than BB. We actually left BB just to go back to TL. The wave pool has a section off to the side that is for kids. Me and DH also swam at the shark reef (free) and that was awesome! There were tiny kids blowing right by us!

Thanks all so much! I think we will try TL just because it looks like fewer height requirements. My kiddos are both under 48 inches. Thanks!
