I'm considering doing Blizzard Beach or maybe Typhoon Lagoon on our trip in August. Is it worth it though with a 4 year old? Will there be enough for her to do? If we don't do a water park, we'll probably do another character breakfast and hang out at the pool. Does anyone have any opinions on which is better, BB or TL? I'm leaning towards BB since I've read the park doesn't have any sand. My DD hates the feeling of sand getting in her shoes, swimsuit etc. Any help will be appreciated.

I think BB is brilliant for a 4 year old - the kids area there has proper slides that they can do, some with a tube and some without. they also have a superb family raft ride that my dd loved at 4 1/2

We are also not keen on sand, and also TL has a lot of spraying water so for us, BB is the better option, and we had a fantastic day there.

Our 4.5 yo LOVED LOVED LOVED TL. They have a wonderful kiddie area. Lots of slides, wading areas, sprinklers, and even a kiddie lazy river.

We spend the entire day and still weren't ready to leave.

I have some pic's below if you'd like to look.

Thanks for sharing your pictures Kimberle. It looks like Brittany had a great time.

We just returned and my 4 year old absolutely loved TL. She played in the sand for most of the 6 hours right under a hut (in the shade) within 5 feet of water to keep her castle moats full. A few times she ventured out into the kids area and there were lots of slides/spraying water, etc... to keep her happy.

We home based in the kiddie area and as there are only 2 huts in the shade that have sand in that area we were first in line at the gates by 8:20 and made a bee-line for the area we wanted when they opened.

I vote Blizzard Beach.

We did TL with a 4 year old - was nothing for him. Kiddie area was boring, wave pool too powerful, not big enough for big slides, all he did was lazy river.

I think they have done a super job at BB of addressing the needs of many ages of kids. Small kids area is big and nice with some decent slides. Much more relaxing than the TL kiddie area. Pre-teen area is really for younger than that and she may be able to enjoy some things there, wave pool calmer, sky lift and will love the family raft ride.

Plus the cartoon theme is all about kids ! ::yes::

We did Blizzard Beach when dd had just turned 4. It was great! Kiddie area was great, and she did plenty of bigger slides, too. Don't miss it, it will be one of the highlights of your trip.
