Does anyone know the height/age requirement for being a passenger in a water mouse boat? TIA

Hi, I just checked into them and it is 5ft. and 12 years old to drive BUT I believe you have to have someone in the boat with a valid drivers license. :flower:

Thanks for the response. :)

I'm actually looking to find out the info for passengers though. I know DS has been a passenger with his Daddy since he was about 3 yrs old. We were wondering if I could take my DD out with me this time. DS has always been tall for his age so I don't remember if there were any restrictions on height/age.

There are no restrictions on the passenger. Just the driver must be licensed.

Personally, I would be afraid to take a really young child on the water mice. Once on the Seven Seas Lagoon, DH's water mouse stalled. He was in the direct path of the ferry boat!!!! He did the first thing that came to his head and jumped out of the sprite!!! He got picked up by one of the lifeguards who towed the sprite in, but I can't imagine what he would have done if he had had our DS with him at the time.

Luckily, no one was hurt, but I would NEVER take a young child out on one of the sprites.

just curious - did the ferry hit the sprite? Did the ferry move to avoid the sprite? I find this very interesting. I was planning to rent one in late August.

The lifeguard got to my DH and the Sprite in time. Had he not, the ferry definitely would have hit the Sprite - though since the Ferries are free floating I would think that if the captain had seen him, he potentially could have steered around him, but I am not sure. I'll tell you it was pretty freaking scary though.

We have rented Sprites again, but prefer to do it from OKW or DTD.

We are extremely cautious around the ferry and avoid going near it at all. I'm actually a little paranoid about it since I was at WDW when a woman was actually killed by it many years ago. She was actually playing games and trying to out run it by criss-crossing in front of it with her 2 kids (in another boat). Again, this was a long time ago and the water mice were alot slower then. When we do rent them now, it's either at DTD or BC almost all the time. If we have to do 7 Seas, we avoid the ferry like the plague.

Glad your DH was ok!!!!
