Have never had a leak or a breakage problem since all bottles are packed well.
To paraphrase some financial commercial or other, "Past performance is no indication of future results"

So will TSA have any problems with that much water in TODAYS Enviroment. Second are battieres ok for carry on????
TIA
The honest answer is, we don't know. I'm thinking it's EXTREMELY rare for any passenger/party to include 140 bottles of water in their checked luggage. You could try to contact the TSA for specific information. As for the batteries? See www.tsa.gov for what can and cannot be carried on to a plane.

As far as freezzing and breaking. We live in the cold of NY and i keep a case or two in my trunk all winter long and have never had a bottle bust or break.

Depending on the type of aircraft, the luggage hold can get extremely cold, especially if flying 35,000 feet or above for an extended period.

I learned not to keep water on my balcony when I lived in Germany; if I forgot and it froze overnight the bottles would shatter. This was just a few degrees below zero Celcius, ie freezing. The trunk of your car probably doesn't get as cold as the luggage hold of an airplane.

You can go to Staples.com and join their Rewards Club for free. As a Rewards member, they will offer free shipping on cases of water. You can have those cases shipped to your resort.

Another vote for staples(or net Grocer). I would not carry the water...what are you doing for clothes???

Personally, I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for a large group of well-hydrated individuals who look like they are still wearing the clothes they flew in... :rotfl2:

Sorry - this is just simply crazy. I never check bags, now have to - just did last week to WDW.

At WDW, any counter service will GIVE you ice water to drink - a nice bit 24 ounce cup. For God's sake, if you can afford to travel, why the heck would you check WATER in your luggage? I have never heard of anything so STUPID in my whole life?

If someone's stupid liquid spilled into my checked bags, I'd be pissed.

This is just the stupidest question I've ever heard - water in checked bags? Like I said, you can can get ice water for free. Don't tell me "the water tastes bad". I was just there and it tasted great - plus went through some bottles myself.

I'm hoping that the OP is going to reconsider and look at some of the good advice given here (I dispute that a rental car will be $75 for a day; an economy can run $14-19 in the DTD area, with free pickup). We also gave several options for delivery services.

Otherwise I consider taking 300 lbs of water in carry on luggage extremely inconsiderate - to fellow passengers, baggage handlers, screeners, ME staff, bell staff, and Mother Nature.

I'd go w/Staples too...only problem we had was I ordered it a week before arrival & it got to the resorts (on-site & off-site) within 2 days...both held it for me no problem (put your info on order form).

Man, we are a judgemental bunch, aren't we? Anyway - no, there is no rule that would prevent 6 people from bringing 300 pounds of water in their checked bags. And batteries are fine to bring on the plane (assuming we are talking standard AA, C, D type batteries and not a car battery).

Maybe that's because the OP asked "Water in Checked Luggage How much is Too Much?". Sounds like a judgement call to me! :confused3

Staples is great for water! When I was sick for several months and could barely push a shopping cart empty, let alone with a case of water in it, I would get water delivered to my doorstep. And Twizzlers, but that was just me.

They typically deliver the next day or within 2 days.

About checking all that water, if were a luggage screener I'd really have to wonder why so much liquid? Who knows what they will do in this environment? It would be a pain to haul it all the way to the airport, only to find that the TSA wouldn't let it on the flight.

And to me, CS ice water is way better than Dasani (that they sell in the parks)

I'll bet you what they will do is follow the rules, which allow that much water. It may be goofy, but it won't be - as the OP asked - a "problem".

Why not order it from Staples.com and have it delivered directly to your resort? That is what I would do!

Are you planning on a cooler to keep this water cold all day long? I know you won't need to cool all the water at once, but you're planning on carrying this water for most of the day, so unless you are taking breaks and going back to the hotel, I am imagining some really hot water for that afternoon bottle. Maybe you could cut the water in half and then just get the water at the counter service restaurants. Keep the bottle and refill it and you will have the best of both worlds. Cold water and it is nice and portable!

We stay at the All-stars Movies and place the water by the AC and have it cranked to as cold as it can get. This keeps the room nice and the watter very cold for a long time during the day since the specific heat of water is very high. We have enjoyed cool water during the fireworks shows from the water we packed in the morning with no breaks to the hotel to restock. at only 2.3 bottles per person per day that makes it so almost every one is carrying their own supply and not overly burderning one person.

Staples is a very Good idea. And one i would have used last time had i thought of it. For this trip i am still un-decieded since we have the watter allready and it is allready packed. But if i do take it, and their is a problem with TSA, then i know a quick call to staples can get it fixed. Or maybey just use staples and forget about any problems at all.

I have noticed alot of you think that i am crazy, but everyone in their own ways find a way to shave a little off of the cost of going to Disney. One way is to get cheaper water. Yes CS is Free, but we have tried and do not like the taste of the water at most of the parks. Dasiani is $$$ but will use snack credits from the Free Dining plan if we must, but we want some Mickey Bars too.

Thank you all for some much valueable input. And the answer to the battiers side question. as they have liquide/gel inside and could have been affected by the BAN, I noticed they allow LCD's too. the TSA needs to step back and take a good look at realiaty of these UnReasonAble BANS!!! for so called safty. The only people i see makeing out are the Airports and their vendors who now are the only providers of beverages during your long layovers.

Thank you all.

RE: - Packing water in your checked luggage. I just wouldn't go through the hassle. Why not just bring some empty water bottles and a fresh Brita pitcher? Lighter AND cheaper!

Also, you can always ask for a cup of ice water at any of the counter service locations for free.
