Does anyone have any ideas about water bottles? There are 7 of us going, and I know that water can be expensive to buy in the park. I thought I saw ones that have clips on them to attach to your waist, like a fanny pack. Any suggestions? Sue

Our local walmart has water/sports bottles with a strap attached to them .. they are refillable and have a nice carrying case that keeps them cold I picked one up for each of us for about 2.50 each on sale

Keep in mind that the tap water at WDW can be a bit of a taste shocker to a lot of people; I find it nearly undrinkable in its unaltered state. However, if I use a Brita filter sports bottle, it tastes just fine. You would probably not need to have enough filter bottles for the whole party, you can squeeze the water through the filter into an ordinary bottle.

Look around at camping stores, etc. for neoprene bottle sleeves w/ belt clips. A neoprene sleeve helps keep the water cold and it doesn't sweat on your clothing that way.

Our family just can not drink the water at WDW. Bottles at the parks are 2.50 for a large one. WE almost always get one or two and share. We drive so we take a case with us but this year we ran out. What we did was get a gallon of water from the gift shop and use that in our room and refilled our bottles too. Don't forget that the on site hotel water in not what many people want to drink either. I thought 2.50 was a little high but at a hockey game last week-end a small bottle was 3.00. so WDW prices are not so bad.

Thanks for the help. I will definitely check out the water bottles. I didn't know about the water at the parks tasting so bad. We have rented a van, and we are staying at HIFS so I will buy a couple of gallons of water at the store to keep in our fridge in the hotel. Thanks, again Sue

another option is a tip I learned on these boards.

Bring powdered drink mix to cover the taste of the water. We used country time pink lemonade. I filled a small ziplock bag and kept it in my fanny pack, asked for a cup of ice (free in the parks) filled the bottles with fountain water & ice and added the powder. Shake and wallah! Ice cold lemonade! kept us cool and hydrated all day!

We used the water bottles with the straps. very convenient.

crazyladyof5 - I agree the water in FL will be a shocker to you, it really tastes awful, especially warm (one of the fountains at WDW made me want to spit it out it was terrible).

Anyway, we drive down too.

I have gone to my local Sam's club or anywhere really that sells a 24 pk of waterbottles of our favorite brand. I believe I paid $6.97 a case for each, I bought two and put them in the back of our Expedition to take with us. We also bought a small plug in cooler to keep drinks and sandwiches in for the drive.

At night at our resort, we'd freeze some for the parks the next day. As they'd thaw, it was always a great ice cold drink. I put my DH's and mine in our backpacks and I bought insulated water bottle holders with straps at CVS for the kids, they slung it across their shoulders and had it immediately available to them.

The rest of the bottles always remained in the fridge. If you buy a couple of gallons for HIFS, it might take up all the room in the mini fridge, you could replenish the bottles as needed....just a thought...

Have a great time!
