water attractions question(s)

I've read that KRR has a sealed center section where we can store stuff that we want to keep dry .... what about the other water attractions? Do we have to go back to the lockers to store stuff, or is there a place to leave our gear in/near the rides?

Any tips for how to pack light AND have appropriate footwear for water rides, fountains, etc.? We'd like to manange on two fanny packs for me, DH, and DDs 4 & 9. (Alternate question: any ideas on where to find inexpensive fanny packs for girls size 4 and 6x-7?)
