Hi All,

What is the most economical way to get water and a few snacks if you're only 2 people, flying in using DME, not checking bags, and staying at the poly for 4 days?

I know grocery delivery is an option, but doesnt it have a minimum? What do you use and how would you do it?

Trying to make sure we have lots of water on hand but dont want to pay $4 per water bottle either.

Thanks!

I think I'm good with doing that but my wife is not a fan of how the water tastes, especially in MK.

Any luck with water bottles with filters? Or if it has to be water bottles, what's the cheapest option?

We drive but here you go. The Poly will most likely have water with lemon and cups sitting around the lobby for free. You can get free water and any quick service location in the parks. A lot of them have the cups sitting out and you just walk up and get them, some you have to stand in line and ask. As far as snack, we rarely eat them so I'm not much help there. When we do, it's usually something healthy like fruit, which you can buy in all the parks. I never take a bag into the parks, if it can't fit in my pocket or in the case of my glasses around my neck, it doesn't go in. I don't even carry a water bottle unless I happen to have one that I grabbed from my room at Swan/Dolphin where they are free. If you wanted to take some sort of snack, you could carry some kind of trail mix in your luggage and some ziploc bags, transfer a little to a ziploc every day and carry it in your pocket (or your husband's if he has cargo shorts).

I thought I read somewhere that you can get packages delivered to the resort (mail) ? I read someone had Amazon delivery?

Amazon Prime Pantry.

Take an empty suitcase to the front desk to pick it up instead of paying the bellservices delivery fee. Even with the package handling fee of $5, you will come out WAY ahead.

I had to scroll way back thru my posts to see what I posted on a similar thread for the All Stars (I'll assume Disney won't be majorly diff between a value & deluxe on this). I reported on my June 2019 trip having an 8 pack of 12 oz. Dasani water in the gift shop for $4.49. No delivery issues & not $4 each like in a park. Similarly with snacks, family size bags of chips in gift shop. There's a food area & usually refrig for cold stuff in the resort gift shop. The food court has yogurts & fruit to put in your room too. Is it more expensive than a grocery store? Yes. Is it worth less hassle than a trip to store or ordering online & scheduling a pick up? Yes. Especially for just 2, for a few things.

ETA: they also had much larger bottles (something like 1.5 L) that I presume you won't want to carry into park but could be used to refill the smaller bottles for re-use.

I used Publix(instacart) on my trip in May. They delivered it to bell services and I was not charged a fee by the resort. I was a new instacart customer, so I got free delivery on my first order. I don't think there is a minimum. It was really easy, just went to the Publix site, picked out what I wanted, and it was delivered within 2 hours.

Water is free. Food places will give you a cup of water anytime you want. Also, fountains. I usually just get water from the fountains. But there is zero reasons to pay for water at WDW or DL. Its always free. I suppose if you want filtered..you can use the bottle that has a filter and fill it up at the fountains. I love Nestle Pure life. It's 3.88 for 40 bottles at walmart. It's 4.00 for ONE bottle of Dasani at WDW. No way Well pay that. Florida water is perfectly fine, especially when you are thirsty.

I know a lot of people don't like the taste of central Florida tap water. It just has different mineral content than most are used to. I've never worried about it too much and just use a lightweight insulated water bottle that I fill to the top with ice and water every time I pass by a food court.

I've seen people add flavoring packs to it too, if that makes the taste more tolerable and you don't want to lug around a filter.

For two people on a four day trip, I wouldn't waste a lot of time and energy.. Like @shocker says, the multi-pack waters sold in the gift shop are a reasonable cost for the convenience. Waiting around for delivery and lugging groceries takes valuable energy (and time!) that could be spent enjoying the not-cheap Poly resort and theme park tickets you've paid for.
