Hiya!

My DF and I really want to watch the fireworks from California Grill while having dinner one night while on our honeymoon. I just tried to make reservations, and on the 2 nights available atm, the only time slots are 7.45 or 9.10 - If I book the 7.45 the fireworks are at 9 will they let us stay in our seats to watch them? I read somewhere that Disney estimate about 45mins for each slot, so will they ask us to leave after this? :confused3

Thanks!

Christine

Speaking from experience I can guarantee that you won't be finished eating by 9 if you take the 7.45 booking.
For some reason CG is notoriously slow for service so you will have no trouble watching the fireworks. But even if, by some miracle, you have finished there is nothing to stop you going and sitting at the bar for an after dinner drink :thumbsup2

I have a similar problem - my 40th bday ressie is for 7.30pm (thought would be a shoe in for wishes at 9) and now find out wishes is at 10.00.

I know they are slow but im sure they are not THAT slow!!

only other option is a 9.35 Ressie but i just think we would only have sat down by then!! so maybe a drinkie (or 3) afterwards would be the way to go.

Thanks for the advise!

If you finish eating early keep your receipt and you can explore the rest of the Contemporary and then go back to the 2nd floor check in and they will let you back up to watch the fireworks.

You will definitely be OK for 9pm, if you were to finish early you could go outside on the walkway/balcony to watch the fireworks.

We ate there Christmas Day - booked for 7.30 and saw fireworks at 10 no problem. We had a lovely relaxed meal and had a great view from our table at the window :)

7:30pm res you won't be far out for 10pm if our experience is anything to go by, late getting seated then over 2 hours for 2 courses, no bread, no drinks just a very basic 2 course, too slow for me, I will never return, one of the worst dining experiences we have had, totally opposite to The Yachtsman Steakhouse, going back there again this year.

we had an even worse time there, was there over 4 hours. The food and service were apalling. we were so disappointed with the view of the fireworks there.
Im sure youll still be seated at 10 ;)

That's lovely thanks everyone :) have made a reservation for our last night at 7.55 can't wait! We don't mind at all if the service is slow, we love o relax and take aaaages over dinner, especially if we'll be watching the fireworks :) yay! :cheer2:
