Watching MK fireworks from a boat

Background: I have a friend. She's a big Disnay fan. But about two years ago, she started having anxiety attacks. She can't tolerate being any place with a crowd. She can't tolerate a crowded restaurant.

Obviously, going inside the parks is completely out of the question.

But, I have managed to give her a very pleasant Disney day, once. She was picking up her parents at Orlando International, (we're about 2 hours away from Orlando), and I talked her into driving down the night before, and spending the night in a Cabin. We had two pleasant means at Trail's End. Shopped both gift shops. Very pleasant, relaxing, non-crowd day.

I've noticed that, during Wishes, it seems like there's always 10-15 boats, sitting on Bay Lake, watching the fireworks. I know (OK, I assume) that one of them is their "Pirates and Pals" cruise. (I've seen advertisements, never gone.) But I have no clue what the other boats are.

Is it possible for me to rent her a boat, at FW, drive her over to bay lake, and let her watch fireworks from the lake, without anybody else in the boat? I'm under the impression that the marinas at the various resorts shut down long before then.

Or is there some other way I can get her a place in a boat, so she can watch Wishes without actually having to go into the park?

I have no clue what those other boats are. How would I get her onto one of them?

Yes you can and it is wonderful. I did this for my DH and me and our bridal party when we were down in Disney celebrating our 5 year anniversary. We first had dinner at 'Ohana and the I took everyone outside to the marina and had the boat all set up. We had a great time.

There are 2 different size boats. I believe you can get the pontoon boats at any of the MK resorts so Poly, Contemporary, GF and Ft. Wilderness. You can also have dinner served to you on the boat.

21' Tracker Pontoon Boat holds up to 8 guests. Price includes pontoon boat, driver, water, soda and bagged snacks -Guests may order Private Dining to be delivered to the cruise. The sound from the fireworks show is not provided on the boat..

25' Tracker Pontoon Boat holds up to 10 guests. Price includes pontoon boat, driver, water, soda, bagged snacks and and audio feed of the fireworks music -Guests may order Private Dining to be delivered to the cruise. The sound from the fireworks show is provided on the boat.

We had the larger boat so the sound was provided on the boat.

Call (407)-824-2682 to book.

Hope you and your friend get to enjoy Wishes.

They also do this for IllumiNations and I believe they pick you up at The Boardwalk and take you through to Epcot to the International Gateway and the boat stops near the bridge and you can watch IllumiNations.

You call Disney. A previous poster gave the number to call. I hope you can sort something out.:goodvibes

We have done this several times. It is a great thing to take first timers on. We had the smaller boat and sound was provided. The cast member said sound was now on all the boats.

We are heading down this April with my dad, who will be 89 in March and hope to do this again.

We did it during MVMCP and while it was great, Wishes is my favorite and I would love to see it from the water.

Does anyone have recent confirmation of the sound on the smaller boats? I just booked one for July 3, and they assured me that it did have audio on both size boats. But when I look up reviews and reports, it contradicts this. Is this a new change and that's why?

It has been on ALL boats since May 2012.

On our July 3, 2017 MK boat cruise, our sound was not working. Our sound came from another boat.

We did this in October of 2012 (smaller boat, with sound) and it was awesome. Just our family of 4, and it was awesome. It's probably in my top three Disney experiences ever. You really feel like you are all alone out there; it's very peaceful.

It sounds like a great solution for your friend.

But be aware that Happily Ever After, the show that replaced Wishes, has, as a big part of the show, digital projections on the castle, which can’t be seen from the lake. Well, they can be “seen” in the sense that you can tell the castle is changing colors, but not any detail.

There are still amazing pyrotechnics (35% more than Wishes, according to some sources) which are beautiful from the lake.

And in the case of your friend, missing the projections would be a small price to pay to be able to enjoy the show at all.

I hope you can set this up!
