Watching fireworks outside the parks

Hi All! We are traveling to Disneyland October 15th through the 18th. We are not planning on going to the parks until the 16th.

On Friday night we want to watch the fireworks from Mickey's Halloween Party from outside the park. I have seen people congregate between the entrances to Disneyland and California Adventure to watch the fireworks. Is this okay or is bad etiquette?

We are staying at Paradise Pier. Does this hotel have any good views of the fireworks?

Are there any other areas outside the parks that you can watch the fireworks?

Your help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have heard that you can watch the fireworks from the pool area at the Paradise Pier....plus they pipe in the music. I'm sure someone else can confirm this. We have tried to watch from DTD, but never had a good view. I'm not sure if you can hear the music in the esplanade between the parks.....and I think it would be much better if you can hear that.

You will be much better off watching for the mentioned area at PPH. Watching from the esplanade is like just drinking the metled ice out of a left over cola cup when you could of had the coke itself.

Confirmed. :goodvibes

I've done it once for the Halloween fireworks, and the view was surprisingly good. You miss the castle stuff, but I did see some things way better from PPH than I saw them from the Fantasmic dessert seating area.

We saw the fireworks from DTD. Of course it wasn't the same as when you are in the park but they were still good. I think we were standing in the area by the House of Blues but I'm not totally sure about that.

We could see the fireworks from our window at the Ramada Plaza (on the corner of Katella and Harbor) last Friday, it was a nice surprise.

Besides, you have the extra benefit of showing up just 15 to 10 minutes prior the show and scoring a great seating place.

We watched the fireworks from there twice last month during our stay.

There are a few places outside the Park (as mentioned/listed above) to see the fireworks. The challenge with the Halloween Screams fireworks show is that part of what makes them so amazing is that there are two 3D spheres near the castle that are used for lots of very cool effects. They REALLY add to the show. Also, there are lots of effects done ON the castle throughout the show that made it so incredible. Sadly, none of this can be seen without being inside the Park, on Main Street.

I was wondering the same things. Since we'll be there for 2 Halloween party nights and we're not going to either so I'm glad to be able to see from DTD.

Thanks everyone for the information. It looks like we will be watching the fireworks from the Paradise Pier pool. We'd love to go to the halloween party but our DS7 pretty much falls asleep like clock-work no later than 9pm so we didn't think it would be worth the money. When he gets older it is definetly an option!
