Watching afternoon parade from Tony's???

While reading easyWDW the other day, he mentioned that if you have a midafternoon reservation at Tony's and request an outside table, you can watch the afternoon parade go by while eating. We've never eaten at Tony's due to not so good reviews of it, but thought we might give it a try if this is possible. Have any of you ever done this? Can you make the request for location ahead of time, even if making ADR's on-line? Do we need to wait until we get there to request this?

You can request tables in advance; only when you check in at the podium. There's no guarantee that they will be able to accommodate your request.

The view is not that good, but the food is even worse. Do yourself a favor and watch the parade from Frontierland.
