Always. I own several Timex athletic digital watches and also a couple of their Weekender line of watches that have the bands you can switch out. I've always liked wearing a watch ever since I was a kid. I had to wear a watch when I was still working as a nurse, and the athletic digital watches were very useful in that setting because they are water proof and easy to wash. I also just like the sportiness of them, even though I'm not hugely athletic.

A friend recently noticed that I always wear a watch, and commented that he just looks at his phone and wondered why anyone wears a watch anymore. So I challenged him to an immediate time and date announcing duel, and I won (of course)! :teeth:

I am one of those people who cannot live without my watch. I am so used to it, I panic when the battery needs to be changed! I have no reason for this. I am always early for appointments, etc - but I NEED to know where I am in terms of TIME. Weird, I guess! :confused3

Thank you everyone. I was trying to decide if I was going to get my mom a watch for Christmas

I'm going to go with other. :) I always wear a watch at work and never wear a watch when I don't work.

Isn't that kind of a individual thing? How do you base something your mother may or may not want on what a bunch of strangers on the internet do? Does she own a watch? Have you ever seen her wear one? Do you find she usually pulls out her phone to look at the time?

Yes, it is a hobbie and I collect them. I try to buy new releases that are in short supply.

I voted "other". Sometimes seemed too often - I wear one rarely.

I'm a guy but I treat it like a piece of jewelry.

Its really odd, I had a watch that my mother gave me about 7 years ago, and it eventually just stopped working.

I decided to start looking for watches and became obsessed almost, hehe.

There's a LOT of watches I really like now, which is a bad thing, since I think I'm going to start a collection.

I have to for work. Cell phone is useless, it doesn't show seconds. I am responsible for news updates that air at 7:24:30, 7:56:11 and 8:27:00 so I have to know the exact time when I am away from a place with a house time clock.

I never wear a watch and don't think I've ever worn one on a regular basis.

I do, but more out of habit it seems. For as long as I can remember I've worn a watch. When it comes to finding out what time it is though, I usually myself checking out my cell phone or Ipad.

I have worked in the food industry for 20 years where wearing a watch isn't allowed so wearing one becomes odd rather than not wearing one.

Wouldn't the choice be sometimes? The "other" options seems redundant.

"Sometimes" seems sporadic to me. I always wear a watch to work. No exceptions. I never wear a watch outside of work. No exceptions. It's not "I think I'll wear a watch today," or "this watch looks good with this dress." Besides, it's my answer, and "other" seems right to me. :)

I wear my Mickey Mouse watch I got several years ago for my birthday everyday. If I'm not wearing it I feel awkward and always worry I'm going to be late.

All day, every day. It's just a pure PITA to haul out my cell phone just to see what time it is, and I don't have it set up to show the time on the home screen anyhow. I can glance at my watch and get on with my life in less time than it takes to get my hand on my phone.

I don't need a watch, I have a phone.

And I spend most of my day somewhere near a clock, anyway (computer, tv, car...)
