JUst got back. Loved having a car but getting it was a big pain....I booked one line..Printed out everything. Had fastlane.. The guy at the counter tried to give us a compact... Said you booked compact... I said no look at the printout... Oh, he said you do have intermeidate.... He tried to give us a compact even thought right in front of him was the comfirmation sheeet.. If I would not of stepped up and said that, my DH would of ended up with a compact.. The guy at the counter knew we had intermediate. I think he was trying to pull a fast one.... He also added on gas when I stated not too....... Then we went down in the lot... no intermediates left.... We stood there for about half hour... I watched people come and go.. they did finally give us an upgrade... Once we got on our way it was great... Never would I go to WDW again without a car... We used it almost all of the time. The few times we did not we said I wish we would of used the car.... Got around alotttttt faster... Returning the car was no problem....corvair

We rented from Avis in March and had the gas option added at the counter. They made us initial a line saying that we agreed to it. Dollar doesn't do that?

Thanks for the heads up. I hope it was just an employee having a bad day and not an employee doing what they were instructed to do by their bosses. But, that is why you (everyone, not picking on you personally ) should take their confirmation sheets. It cuts down on the hassles when you have all of the info right there for them to see. I'm glad everything turned out alright for you.

We did have our conformation sheet. It was right under his nose. He still said you booked compact... I said no right hear it says interm.. he said I guess you did... If we would not of had this we would of got stuck with compact. No we did not have to inital any thing.. After we got through with the compact thing he went and added it.. I said right here on my fastlane and conformation sheet it says no gas option... He said when you come back you can take it off you do not have to keep it.. he just said it does not matter... I said no but by now my DH said lets go.. I hope too that the employees are not trained to do that..but I think he knew what he was doing.. specially with the gas thing.. corvair

Yes, you have to stick to your guns with car rental agencies!

Know what you are renting and don't take less!

Be careful on the gas option. The option assumes you will use a FULL tank. So if the car has a 16 gallon tank you get charged for 16 gallons. Now I don't know about you, but I have never run my tank to 0! Also, normally at Disney I spend less than half a tank so this would not be a good deal.

Get everything right the way you want before taking the car. Don't expect to fix things at the end of the rental when you bring the car back since then 5the agent will say, "you took the option, you are stuck with it".

The prepaid tankful of gas is not a good deal for you the renter. It is a big profit item for the rental company.

We did not want it, I had no on my confirmation, he added it any way, he just kept saying no big deal we will take it off when you get back... I would say no , he just said no big deal, we were tired of aurguing... We did not use a full tank of gas and went to Universal two times and drove everywhere in the park for 9 days... The guy at the counter knew what is was doing.... When we retured the car, we were late for our plane so we took the lose.... I did fight for no gas before we took the car, but he kept saying no it is ok,,we will change it later.. He knew what he was doing....corvair
