Hello

New here so apologies if its an obvious question... We are in DLP on 16th Dec onwards and I was wondering if there is any restaurant that we can watch the parades from, and get a good view?

thanks

Hi Katy, I'm newish here too and also going to DLP on 16th December, which hotel are you in? We're at the Cheyenne, I can't answer your question personally but would love to find out the answer.

See you there!! :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

I think the normal recommendation is Walts, as this is located in Main Street, and has locations upstairs.

The only other place might by Plaza Gardens, which is slightly raised from the ground level. Never been inside (what I hear you cry), so not really sure.

There are other Counter-food outlets along Main Street but these are all at ground level. Any seating inside these is unlikely to be able to see much what with the 'crowds' located outside on the pavement.

Hi!

The only restaurant with a good view on the parades is "Walt's - an American restaurant" because there are window seats at the upper floor. But please keep in mind that even if you have a reservation, there is no guaranty for window seats.

Also you can see the parades from the outside seating of all counter service locations at Mainstreet and at restaurant ""Bella Notte" in Fantasyland. But sitting outside doesn't seem to be a good idea in december :rotfl2:.

From "Plaza Gardens" Restaurant, you might see a tiny bit of the floats, but again there is no guaranty for a window seat, and even if you have a table near the window this is far from the experience of seeing the parade from closer.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but nevertheless you will have a magical stay at DLRP :wizard:.

Greetings, Wuzefelix

I agree with Ian and Wuzefelix -

Yes, there are restaurants and counter service places along the parade route, with outside seating. But there will be folk standing in front of you all along there, at the edge of the pavements/rope etc.

Walts upstairs would appear to be the only restaurant where it may be possible to get a table by the window, and see the parade without any restricted view.

I recommend getting there early and grabbing seats outside main street deli. In there you can get yummy hot choc with cream or coffee and that will at least keep your hands warm. If you have little ones you can pop them on your shoulders or stand them on a chair.

Alternatively a hot waffle with cream and watching as the parade comes out of the gates by Its a Small World is good. You can warm up afterwards by running to one of the rides to beat the crowds.

For those going with princess-mad children this Christmas, its also worth noting that the princesses get off their floats and dance in the OUAD parade, but only once, and thats on the parade route near the entrance to Adventureland, just to the left of the castle as you look at the castle from Main St.

We usually have seen the princesses dance outside the Bella Notte, but with the extra Christmas bit in the parade, the princesses don't stop there anymore.

Thanks thats useful to know - I had read that in your trip report as well. We now need to decide whether to watch the parade at our usual spot near the beginning so we can dive into Small world or somewhere afterwards or where you say to be able to see the Princesses dancing.

I suppose you could try it near the begining of your stay and if you're not lucky enough to get a window table then you could watch the parade the next day from outside somewhere

That's really good advice. :thumbsup2 I'm sure you'll want to watch it more than once anyway, we watched it four times on our last trip from a different place each time so we could see a different float stop and it still wasn't enough!! ;)
