Ok TR. I wasn’t going to do one but Nicole aka Nicole786 pressured me into doing one. And warning I tend to ramble. LOL. You have been warned.

Cast:

Me (Kim) 29 years old. From NJ. Last time I was at Disney was for Super Soap Weekend in 2003 and we did not get to the parks then. (A friendly tip for those doing Disney while Super Soap Weekend is going on do NOT do MGM studios cause that is where the event takes place on Saturday and Sunday and it is always crowded. SSW takes place in November) I love everything Disney and my favorite characters are Eeyore and Ariel. I have learned that I cherish the trips more with my friends then my family.

Tigger and Me from The Disney Store in NYC 1/07

Jen: 21 years old. From MA. On Spring Break from college. She gets 2 weeks off. Heck when I was in college we only got one. She is studying to become a teacher.

Michelle: Early 30’s (She would kill me if I posted her age LOL) From NC. She is a teacher and she was glad to get away from her 3rd graders. She could only take 2 days off without being questioned so she had to fly down on Thursday.

Lisa: 20’s. She lives in FL so she decided to treat us to dinner and desert on Saturday.

I met Michelle and Jen cause of this guy:

My flight wasn’t leaving till 11 am but of course I was up at my usually 5 am. Usually I wait till the night before to pack and well I was done on the weekend. I was so proud of myself. I don’t think this will every happen again. My co-worker was going to Las Vegas the same day I was and was not packed Tuesday when we left work. Of course, I kept teasing her that I was packed and was getting the “oh shut up” comment all day long. I told my mom that we were leaving for the airport at 8 am but she mistakenly thought I said 9 am. I threw on a sweatshirt since it was around 70’s and I wasn’t thinking I would need to wear a jacket on the way home. So at 8:05 I was like let’s go and she was like why are we leaving so early. It takes a good 45 minutes to get to Newark airport and if you hit traffic on the NJ Turnpike you are basically screwed. Finally, after we loaded the car, one suitcase to check in, a laptop bag, and camera case that were coming on the plane we were ready. I had the boarding pass in my purse and I have to tell you it is very freaky that I know my one pass number better then my social security number. I got to the airport by 9 am and went to check in. Continental has a hub in NJ and the continental.com bag check line was long. Luckly, I was there early enough. This poor guy who was in front of me had 30 minutes to get through that line and then security. And Continental was having all their customers go through 1 security checkpoint but if you were rushed you were not going to make the plane. What part of everyone has to take their shoes off do people not understand. People try to get their kids through without taking the shoes off. Ughh. I always have my laptop in my hands and my sneakers untied. I am thinking next time I should just wear sandals. But then again it was freezing cold, well I was. Finally got through security and went to find my gate. Of course, I have all my junk and the back of my shoe was digging into my heel and couldn’t stop cause there were to many people behind me so I had to keep walking. Of course, my plane was at Gate 74 at Newark Airport. The continental gates are all in terminal C and of course it was the farthest one from security. We finally boarded the plane and I got a lady who was flying for the 1st time next to me. The airline put her daughter and son in other seats. Her daughter was sitting one row behind us and on the other side of the plane and her son was behind her daughter. She felt so bad that she wasn’t sitting by her daughter but the family next to her kept her entertained. She asked me which was worse taking off or landing. Well, I said taking off for me (I get ear splitting pain when I take off or land) it is not so much for other people. At Newark, when they say your plane leaves at 11 am that means you are pulling back from the gate at 11 am. I am use to it since I fly out of there every single time. Continental gave us free headsets on the way down. Apparently it is part of the trip to Orlando. Wow I am shocked the airline gave out something free. We actually had a snack, which was a little turkey sandwich, raw carrots, and a little bag of M&M’s. I turned on my DVD player and just conked out. On the descent, I took a few pictures.

Here's one:

I finally get off the plane in Orlando and cannot find the DME. I couldn’t figure out where to go so I called Jen to ask where the DME is. Well, she had the same problem. I didn’t realize you had to go to the main terminal then down to baggage claim to find them. The lady from DME had a clipboard that just said Disney Magical Express. No white glove or anything. I went down to the line for DME. I found Jen you don’t know how excited I was to find here. I haven’t seen her since we were in LA in July 2006. We got onto line and Jen said they were only allowing 1 person from the reservation to get on line. I told her since she had her reservation ticket in her hand to get online with me. Michelle was coming in on Thursday so we asked them to make sure it said that. Jen had called 3 times to confirm this when we were making the reservations cause we didn’t want to Michelle to have problems. It was so nice not to have to wait for the luggage at the airport. Mine always seems to be the last out. The Disney person scanned our tickets and then got into line 1. No one was on the line for our hotel. It was nice. The bus pulled up and the CM had to walk us out to the bus. We got on the bus, which was pretty full already and found a spot to sit together. They showed the video but I was a little to excited to pay attention. After awhile we got to see the welcome sign to Disney. I seriously wanted to cry cause I was all giddy. It always makes me smile which I was greatful for (I work in a nursing home and sometimes the residents drive me nuts). First they stopped at the All Star Sports, then it was our hotel, All Star Music. When I was here last time this is where I stayed. I went to the front desk and checked in and got the welcome packet (which I took home so I can scrapbook). I was expecting to be in the back of the property but they gave us the Jazz Inn Building 9, which was pretty close to the front. We were on the 3rd floor Room 9655 and I was so glad to be on the 3rd floor cause there was cheerleaders and dancers around the hotel the whole time we were there and some of them were a bit noisy. We went to the room and here is what greeted us:

We went to the food court to get our $11.99 mug and food since we had barely eaten all day. I had a burger and fries and a root beer. I have to say the $11.99 mug was so worth it due to the fact that I kept filling up and a normal drink cost $2.00. I so recommend getting the cup. I saw all the washcloths animals that people had in their windows and told Jen we didn’t get one. Jen turned to be and said yes we did. As we went back, she point out the 2 birds in the window. Of course, I had to take a picture of them.

Jen’s luggage got there in about 2 and a half hours and mine well took almost 3 and a half. I called Michelle that night and told her not to tag her luggage since she was getting in at 9 pm and it would take awhile for her to get the luggage. We just hung around and did nothing that night. I changed into my eeyore PJ’s (yes they had to be Disney themed). It was so nice to still be in the same time zone. Usually, I am flying out to CA. I think I fell asleep at 10 pm.

Kim -

I love your trip report so far. I LOVE the picture you took from the plane! How did you like ASMU? I am staying there for the first time with my son this summer and I am planning on LOVING it!!!!! The new rooms look great! Please tell me I will really like it!

I loved it. My ownly complaint was the double beds were very tiny. If you had to fit 2 adults on one bed it was a tight fit. I hope there are no cheerleaders when u are there. I will have to crop the hotel pics for you. the bathroom was a little small too. They had the sink separately from the bathtub and toilet.

Is this a live report?

And if you can guess where it was taken you win a prize.
The picture is of Wally Kurth, and you probably took the picture when you were in MGM in 2003 for Super Soap Weekend. I love prizes.

Ya Kim! You are home! I am so jealous! I wish I was there last weekend!

I can't wait to read all about it...now back to writing mine...I go...

Stop distracting me lady! :rotfl:

We were there last weekend also.... from Mar. 14 till the 18th. It'll be great to compare notes! (and see if we are in any of your pictures..... way back in the background!:rotfl: )

Where did you stay??

We stayed for 3 nights off property at the Sheraton Vistana Villages and the rest of the time at the Swan. We've been six times to WDW and this was the first time to stay off property. No mickey wake up calls, but we did have three bathrooms and more room to spread out with our two teenagers!
And a washer and dryer to dry our clothes after being in the rain on Thursday night at Epcot:laundy:

Looking forward to hearing more.

I love the towel animals! We have never gotten any before. Enjoying your report so far, can't wait to read more!

You guys will probably have to wait till Wednesday night when I am bored at a hotel. I have to go to CT for training. Tomorrow and Tuesday I am busy after work.

I hear you!! That is the ONE thing that KILLS our vacations every time... getting poopy at the people around us that are NEVER ready to go through security. For goodness sake, you stand in line for a while.. don't you have time to get yourself prepared?!?!?:confused3

I'm enjoying this report. I've been to WDW with parents, sisters, DH only, kids... but never with a group of friends...... it sounds HEAVENLY!! Keep it up!

It won't let me quote. I am still at work till 8pm cause someone called out.

I have known Jen for 4 years and Michelle for like 1 and a half but I travel everywhere with them now. I am going out to LA 2 times with Michelle and Jen will be there in July with us.

I am closer to some of my friends that I met online then my real life friends. LOL.
