Hello! This is my very first trip report. I’ve taken notes and journaled in the past, but have not written a formal trip report. I’ve followed along with a few and gotten some tips on how to write them so I’d thought I’d take a shot at it!

First up the cast:
Me: I’m Kristin, an almost 38 year old wife to Bryon and mama to Lily. I work full time as an Accounting and IT Manager at a medium size manufacturing company. I can’t say I love my job, but have been here right out of college and for the most part my coworkers are great. I struggle daily with wanting to be a stay at home mom, but Lily stays with my mom during the day while Bry and I work so that helps a lot knowing she’s well taken care of, not to mention they are the best of friends. On most days my dad is there too in the afternoon because he’s trying his best to start to retire. I am a lover of all things that have to do with WDW! My first trip was when I was 10 with my mom, dad and brother and my next trip wasn’t until my honeymoon. I’m not an obsessive planner of our trips but I find myself having to stop talking so much about our trips and planning!

My DH, Bryon, an almost 40 wonderful husband and daddy. , I won’t go on an on about how great of a husband and daddy he is, but he’s the best! He works as a production manager in a small manufacturing company. He is a Disney lover as well. He was first introduced to Disney World on our honeymoon in 2004. We did a land and sea package.

And pretty much the star of the show…Lily! A happy little 20 month old (at the time of our trip). Her favorite Disney characters are the stars of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (especially Me-me and Me-me, Mickey and Minnie) and also Special Agent Oso. As of late she’s taken to Stitch too!

Saturday, May 12th
We woke up at 4:45 am, packed the car and were on the road by 5:30 am. We had a 1-1/2 hour drive to the airport. Lily was in quite a daze most of the way falling in and out of sleep. We arrived at the airport at 7:00 am, got a great parking space once again and went through check in and security. The lines were longer than we have experienced. Bryon had to go through the new xray machine, Lily and I did not; that made for a bit of hairiness as I had to contain Lily and try to wrangle all of our stuff, all at the same time the TSA agent found the unopened juice in the mesh pocket of the diaper bag. I forgot to declare the juice so at the point at which she found it I had to open it and they had to test it. No big deal and she couldn’t have been nicer, but I don’t travel well and get very anxious and having Bryon stuck in the xray line waiting his turn made me more anxious! Somehow my careful calculating skills were off and we arrived at the gate after the plane had started boarding. Let’s get that anxiety level of mine even higher! We got on the almost full plane with six carryons and a 20 month old and I whipped out the CARES harness and Bry worked his magic, it was on in about 2 minutes and Lily was buckled in. I know a bunch of people fly with lap babies and I like to think Lily is pretty well behaved but I would NEVER have her sit on my lap for a 2 hour flight. For one thing she’s a pretty tall kid so there would be nowhere for her legs to go except for against the seat in front of us and two I would never figure out how to keep her occupied with the bag of toys under the seat, I wouldn’t be able to get to them with both of us in one seat. Of course with all of the hubbub I completely forgot to spray the seat arms and tray tables with my travel can of Lysol. Swell.

Lily did awesome on the flight, played nicely with Bryon, me and her toys. Gone are the days I can turn my Ipod on or read a magazine during a flight. Both Bryon and I are completely focused on Lily to keep her entertained and quiet. The only time she fussed was on the descent down but I had her blow her nose and it helped.

We arrived at the Boardwalk around 11:30 am and our room was ready. We stayed in room 1108, awesome first floor location with a view of the quiet pool. We called to bell services for our Garden Grocery delivery and they were delivered promptly. We ate lunch on the Boardwalk, we ordered a whole pizza and enjoyed our lunch and people watched. We then went into the Screen Door and bought Lily a small stuffed Donald and over to Seashore sweets for a baseball cookie for Bry. We can’t seem to find the Nemo cookies anymore, but the baseball cookies were just as tasty!

We headed back to the room because while we were eating lunch Orlando Crib rental called and were on their way with the crib. I also called bell services to see if our luggage had arrived. Yes I know…it magically appears in your room, but I’d rather shell out a tip to a bellman and know my luggage is safe and sound with me.

While we waited for the luggage and crib we sat on the patio and fed the ducks Pringles. Unfortunately Lily was unimpressed because she discovered how to turn the lights on and off with the paddle switches. Oh what fun she was having! Oh what an annoyance it was to Mama and Dada! Later in the trip though she would see the ducks and make a beeline for the Pringles container so we could feed them. It’s the little things like that that I love! Something so simple to a toddler is so much fun!

We left for Epcot around 3:30 and stopped by the Visa Meet and Greet in the innovations building. East or West who knows, directions are not my forte! There was virtually no line and we had to hold Lily back until it was our turn. The characters are behind a black curtain however they stage the next family as the previous one is finishing up. Meeting Mickey, Minnie and Goofy was priceless. She had the biggest smile!

After the meet and greet we rode Figment. Lily was not a fan, she was a little scared. We then ate at the Garden Grill. This restaurant isn’t one of my favorites but we tried it on our first trip with Lily in October 2011. I thoroughly enjoy the bread and salad, the service and the character interaction, but I can take or leave the main course and dessert.

Chip, Dale, Farmer Mickey and Pluto all came to our table and Lily had a great time interacting with them. Poor kiddo almost got whiplash from spinning around when she knew they were coming! Next time I’ll know better and have her sit on the other side of the table or ask a CM which way the characters are coming from!

After supper we picked up our free Visa photo from the meet and greet and signed up for Photopass +. We then went to the Fairies playground that was set up for the Flower and Garden Fest (at least I don’t think it’s there all the time). Lily had a blast! She hadn’t really been exposed to a playground prior to this trip and although I was a nervous wreck when she attempted to climb, this particular playground had a little kids section. She was very sad when it was time to leave!

After leaving Epcot we went to Beaches and Cream and all shared a brownie sundae and then called it a night around 9:30 pm. Lily slept like a log the entire trip! Like I read somewhere else WDW is like Ambien for kids!

Next up: Mother’s Day at WDW!

Lily is so cute! We'll be taking our daughter in November when she is 20 months old, so I can't wait to hear about your experience! Keep writing! :yay:

Lily is adorable!! We took my youngest grandson for the first time when he was only 11 months old. He did really well. It surprised me how much he loved everything! He loved Stitch the most of everything! He gave Lilo a huge kiss. Very cute!

Looking forward to more of your adventures!
