Hi,
Weird QUESTION...don't know where to post it.
My daughter's "security object" is a stuffed Minnie doll..WHO REALLY needs a good washing! Only problem there is NO tag on her with washing directions.
She is the "usual" Disney character, you get in Disney World!
How have you washed them? Can you wash them? I don't want to ruin it..she already cried when she saw her go into the laundry basket! :sad2:

Thanks so much!

I wash my kids stuffed animals all the time. It shouldn't be a problem. The only thing I have noticed is that if the hair is stiff, it might come out matted. But my daughter's Minnie washes just fine as it's a regular short plush.

I just checked my stuffed animals and none of them had washing directions on their tags either! :confused3 weird. Anyways, found this link with a ton of tips! (though I wouldn't suggest the "scheduled for surgery" one... eek!)

ETA: this was the most concise on the page that I could see:
"My children have had alot of stuffed animals. The way I have cleaned them is to put them in either a zippered pillowcase or tie the top of a regular case. The animals must be able to fit completely inside the case. Then wash in warm/cold water. Then I put them in the dryer with an old pair of tennis shoes so they will beat the animal until it is dry. You will need to take out the sound boxes or other mechanical devices as the washing will cause them to rust and won't work anymore."

Not so sure I like the mental image of "beating" Minnie dry though...

I have washed my DD's many times on warm (cold rinse). Comes out fine. A tip if you are washing stuffed animals that are filled with pellets (or any other small filler), put it in an old pillowcase & tie a loose knot. That way, if it does bust open, you won't have a huge mess to clean up. Trust me, I speak from experiance! Sbella

The pillow case thing also keeps the little pieces - like eyes, nose, etc. from getting lost. I wash all of toys in the pillow case just to keep them from getting beaten up in the washer. I dry them in the case too. Never had a problem.

I use the pillowcase too and never had a problem.
